Vanessa Long’s attorney, Michael W. Tyler released the following statement this evening, “Mrs. Long continues to hope that this matter may be resolved expeditiously, harmoniously and fairly; however, she has determined that dismissal of her divorce petition is not appropriate at this time.”
There were rumors last June that Vanessa had moved out of the home as early as last March around the same time the settlement with the four men who accused Eddie Long of sexual misconduct when they were youths in the New Birth Church congregation. The church was quick to address the rumors as lies. Clearly, the marriage has been on the rocks since the allegations against Long were made.
So what the heck is going on? Is she trying to get out and he is trying to “offer a settlement”? Did something or someone spook her today causing her to lose her nerve? This drama is one that I expect to be ongoing for quite some time.
she shouldve been filed for divorce
At least Herman Cain isn't a child molester so he's got that….
Tamar is a big ol' drunken red-headed mess
Who's Tamar? Everyone knows that a southern lady can change her mind!WD
I know nothing on this story, other than what I've read here, but with all of the flipflopping, at least you know this isn't a decision she is taking lightly.
I think she got some heavy church pressure yesterday and almost buckled. It looks like they have been separated off and on since the "settlement". Perhaps she believed him that he did not do the things he was accused of up until the settlement that is rumored to be in the 15 million dollar range.
FYI, here is Eddie's public statement. "God has blessed us with a wonderful family. Vanessa is, and has always been, a loving, dedicated and committed wife and mother. My love for her is deep and unwavering. It remains our sincere desire to continue working together in seeking God's Will in these circumstances. We will do so as privately as possible and with a spirit of love and sensitivity to our family. We ask that you be in prayer for our family and that we be allowed to privately pursue this important path without need, or request from the media, for further comment," Eddie Long said.
TAMARA, wow! that sounds like some juice for a Kimbrella Lawson Roby book (remember Pastor Curtis Black from her book, "Casting the First Stone") when is the movie comming out?
