After another night of late shooting, Tyler Perry’s The Marriage Counselor has wrapped. According to tweets by Brandy Norwood, the plan was for a long weekend of very emotional scenes. Brandy was being coached by the legendary Susan Batson who came to the Atlanta set to help her with the dramatic final days of shooting.

Lance Gross, was cast in the leading male role of Bryce, the husband of title character Judith played by Jurnee Smollet. Brandy plays the part of Melinda, Bryce’s co-worker who has an unexpected connection to Bryce’s wife.  The final days on the set resolved these complications as Judith realizes the severity of the choices she made in her marriage.

Lance tweeted last night about 11 p.m. that they had completed 13 pages of script yesterday. Those final pages were expected to take the entire weekend. Filming began on November 2 putting the total number of filming days at a mere seventeen. Despite being a straightforward shoot with no special effects that seems like a short shoot to me. Fans of Tyler Perry will get a double shot of movies in 2012. Perry stars in Good Deeds, a movie about an engaged man who has change of heart, which will be released in  February.

Vanessa Williams and Kim K Chat Over Cheese Biscuits

Vanessa Williams tweeted this afternoon that she stopped by the cafe at the Ritz Carlton Buckhead to grab a cheese biscuit on the way to the set of The Marriage Counselor. Since that is where Kim Kardashian is calling home while she is in Atlanta, one could assume she stopped by to grab a bite with her fellow actress for a bit of bonding time before reporting to the  set. Based on Vanessa’s tweets lately she has had afternoon call times that film into the evening.  The two are expected to be filming in the Castleberry Hill area, known for it’s beautiful lofts.  The scene, which takes place in one of the lofts, is reported to be a swanky nightime party scene where Kim’s character Ava, gives emotional support to Jurnee Smollett’s title character, Judith, as she steps away from her marriage during a mid-life crisis. Jurnee married musician Josiah Bell last October. Castleberry Hill is a historic arts district and tonight is the Second Friday Art Stroll, a popular event that attracts many art lovers. They just might see a little bit more than art tonight!

Like Mother, Like Daughter

Kris Jenner flew into Atlanta  late Wednesday and out Thursday afternoon to make a quick mental health check on daughter Kim on the set of The Marriage Counselor.  Kim spent Wednesday night with her momager in her hotel room, presumed to be the Ritz Carlton Buckhead, catching up on the family drama and just spending some one on one time with her mother. After her mother caught a plane back to LAX, yesterday, Kim was seen having dinner at the Market in the W Hotel Midtown with a few people from the movie set.

Kris is in the middle of a very busy schedule promoting her new book, Kris Jenner…and All Things Kardashian, an autobiography that discusses her affair during her marriage to Robert Kardashian as well as claims that she could have saved Nicole Brown Simpson if she had just been less self-absorbed.  Kris recently appeared on  The Wendy Williams  Show where she talked about how close she was to Nicole for the majority of her book promoting segment. A large portion of the book is about Kris’ close friendship with Nicole and the fact that Kris’ husband Robert was representing O.J. Simpson.

Denise Brown apparently gave an exclusive interview to The National Enquirer  (kind of an odd choice if you ask me) calling Kris “pathetic”. In the book, Kris writes about Denise calling her asking her for help regarding a safety deposit box containing pictures and other evidence of O.J. Simpson’s abuse just days after Nicole was killed.   Denise tells The National Enquirer “I had just found out my sister was murdered. The last thing on my mind was whether or not Nicole showed anyone any pictures she had in a safety deposit box.” Denise Brown is furious with Kris Jenner over what she sees as an exploitation of her sister’s brutal death for profit. She stated “I think most people will question her intentions of writing about my sister’s murder. I am really disappointed in Kris. For the past two-and-a-half years, my family has had some relative peace regarding all of this stuff. Now that Kris has brought it up again, she’s split open the healing wounds.For her to write about it is like reliving it all over again. My poor mother is really taking it hard.”

Kim K on the Set of The Marriage Counselor

Kim K was quiet and kept to herself today as she received her lines on the set of Tyler Perry’s The Marriage Counselor.  It was the first day on the set for her as well as Vanessa Williams and Lance Gross.  Some filming was done in downtown Atlanta today near the capitol building this morning; however, Vanessa Williams was tweeting around noon that she was in hair and makeup.  Williams was dressed in a short blue cocktail type dress for the scene which shot this afternoon. Kim K is rumored to be filming with both Williams and Gross over the next few days.
 
Within moments of Kim K and Lance Gross being in the same city rumors were flying that they were flirting. Although not true, I imagine filming with Gross over the next few days will be a pleasant diversion for Kim.
 
There were scattered showers late this afternoon and evening that could have slowed down filming slightly. Filming continues tomorrow.
