On Friday,September 19th, an Atlanta judge ruled that the Estate of Bobbi Kristina Brown can hold Nick Gordon civilly responsible for her death. Nick Gordon apparently parted ways with his former attorney and was expected to show up to court today representing himself. Instead, he just simply did not show up at all.
The Brown family and representatives for Bobbi Kristina’s estate as well as Bobby Brown’s lawyer spoke to cameras outside of the courtroom venting their outrage at Nick Gordon’s failure to appear. Many believe that the objective of this case was to force testimony from Gordon that could be used against him in a criminal case should he be charged in her death by the Alpharetta Police Department. Gordon had previously attempted to avoid depositions citing his constitutional right not to implicate himself in a criminal case. The judge at that time denied his plea citing that no criminal charges were pending against him.
This recap covers the second part of Dr. Phil’s interview with Nick Gordon. If you missed the first part, you can read that here. Basically, he was lying and crying and denying basic facts like Whitney Houston had a serious, obvious drug problem during the time he claims he lived with her.
On today’s episode he is supposed to give details of the night Krissi drowned in the bathtub. We will see if he says anything that can be used against him by Bobbi Kristina’s estate, or the Roswell police. I am not holding my breath. Bobbi Kristina’s estate is involved in at least two law suits.
Dr. Phil says what happened the night that Krissi went into a coma. He answers simply, “Drug overdose.”
Dr. Phil asks him to take us through that day. Nick says he went out that day drinking with some friends. Krissi was not invited and she called him and heard female voices in the background and thought he was out with “chicks.” She was pissed and told him to come home. Eventually they came home and they had “a slight argument.” He says they cleared things up and went upstairs to lay with each other for a little bit.
Nick says he got home around 4 a.m. (that’s a long day drinking session) and saw that she had drank two bottles of wine and she was messed up. Phil asked if she was alone. He says “I think Danyela was there or something?”
They argued about 15 minutes when he got home and they went to their room and had sex for around 45 minutes. They he went downstairs to play video games and he says she got up and got dressed. Who does that at five am after being up all night drunk? He doesn’t remember how long he was playing video games. It was up until the Comcast guy showed up. So when he walked out of the room after having sex with her, that was the last time he saw her alive. In his version of the story.
Nick Gordon is back Dr. Phil talking about Bobbi Kristina Brown in a two part interview that began today. Sigh. Let’s do this. When last we saw Nick on Dr. Phil he was a hot mess and was sent to rehab. We start with a montage of Nick’s crazy drunk behavior from that episode. I’d forgotten how crazy he was. Nick agreed to go to rehab but he did not go quietly. He caused a huge scene in the hotel lobby and punched members of production. Nick supposedly did well in rehab. Yet, we are watching a ton of clips from his first episode on Dr. Phil.
Nick still seems to be lying. About what he was on the last time he was on the show (he says just alcohol and Xanax, I don’t believe that) and how he came to live with Whitney. His story about that makes no sense. Word on the street was that he was Whitney’s drug runner boy. He says that Whitney and Krissi were lonely after the divorce from Bobby Brown. He is lying about everything. Again. He says that he never saw Whitney do drugs. Dr. Phil is well aware he is lying. Nick paints a picture Whitney being a perfect 1950s stay at home mom who doles out good advice. At this time the tabloids were covered with photos of her wasted at public events.
There is no need to recap any of this.
Nick does admit that Krissi had a drug problem. Especially after Whitney died. They both popped a lot of pills in addiction to alcohol and pot.
The autopsy report on Bobbi Kristina was ironically released today on what would have been her 23rd birthday. Local news channel 11Alive filed an open records request that was granted by a judge today. The DA’s office had kept it under seal because of the possibility
Her cause of death is listed as lobar pneumonia due to “Hypoxic ischemic encephalopathy, delayed effects” and “Immersion of face in water complicating mixed drug intoxication.”
The autopsy findings indicted multiple drugs were involved, including: marijuana, alcohol (ethanol), benzoylecgonine (a cocaine-related substance), benzodiazepines (medications used for sedation or to treat anxiety) and morphine. The report goes on to say it could not be determined from toxicology tests whether the morphine resulted from heroin use.
This was a car Bobbi Kriss totaled in 2012.
There is some new stuff happening with the cases surrounding the death of Bobbi Kristina. However, the case I have information on is one where she is the defendant. Four days before Bobbi Kristina died, she was in a serious accident. She was driving her new friend and roommate Danyela Bradley’s Jeep and veered into oncoming traffic sideswiping a Ford Taurus driven by Russell Eckerman. His attorney made this statement one month after the accident, “Russell was on his way to work when this incident occurred. He has been hospitalized since the date of the occurrence and has been unable to speak. His medical condition, as I understand it, is serious, but everyone is hopeful that he will recover and get back to being Russell.” There have been no public updates since that time. It is unclear what his current condition is.

This case is important for many reasons. Mostly, it is very helpful to Nick Gordon’s defense. Because the accident was so close to the date of her drowning, it will be difficult to prove if her missing teeth were a result of the accident or an assault by Nick Gordon as the civil suit against him suggests. Nearly two months after the Bobbi Kristina was pronounced dead, the autopsy report has been completed and a cause and manner of death have been listed. Doesn’t that seem like a long time for the autopsy report to take? We will not be finding out the official manner or cause of death anytime soon though.
According to a press release, “The Fulton County Medical Examiner has classified the cause and manner of Bobbi Kristina Brown’s death; However, a Fulton County Superior Court Order dated September 25, 2015 has been received Sealing the Autopsy Report and ordering the Medical Examiner to not release any further information to the public.”
While most people believe that the motion to seal was filed by the police department, I think it more likely that the attorney for Bobbi Kristina’s estate, Bedelia Hargrove, filed the motion in conjunction with the $40 million wrongful death civil suit against Nick Gordon. Continue reading
