RHOOCcast2Sorry for the delay on the Real Housewives of Orange County Recap, I took one of my great sleeps. It seems weird to be recapping it during the day, but here we go!

Poor Lydia has a scene with Tamra to discuss Alexis. It seems that Lydia has been tasked with bringing Alexis and Tamra together. Lydia says she is the friendship whisperer. She seems to be enjoying this role. Tamra’s transformation into someone likeable begins with this episode.

Gretchen and Heather are planning a bachelorette party for Tamra. Which is sort of hilarious because behind the scenes Gretchen and Tamra are clawing each other’s eyes out trying to be the one to get a wedding spin-off. Rumor has it Tamra won that battle. Back on the show, Bravo has made an ad deal with some swimsuit company that is not that chick from Shahs of Sunset  Gretchen does what everyone does when they throw a bachelorette party, they design a custom swimsuit for someone who cannot show up for a fitting. Yeah, I don’t get this either. Heather wants an art gallery and spa treatments. Gretchen just wants strippers. I am not sure how we went there but now they are arguing over swimsuits. RHOOCcast2I’m BAAACK! Sorry for cheating on y’all with my new Jodi Arias friends. Some of them watch real housewives though so we will have some new people to argue with and call names friends!  We begin Real Housewives of Orange County tonight with Heather complaining to Tamra. Gretchen was rude at my Hot in Cleveland shoot. Things are not perfect with my rich husband and beautiful family! Why must I suffer so much?! etc.

This shoot in Laguna is making me miss my friend Kimberly who lives in the OC about a 5 blocks from the beach (you may recall her guest blog here). Why does watching TV make me want to book flights to every location I see? I’m such a nomad. Must wander.  Anyway. Lydia is the “Cynthia” of RHOOC. She is the one that has to catch the outsider housewife (Alexis) on everything to which she was not invited. Lydia wants to smooth the waters for Alexis with the other girls and thinks she needs to talk to Tamra.

Vicki goes to visit Brooks where he lives in a house for which Vicki probably pays. She walks in like she owns the place, because she probably does. Brooks needs hair plugs or to shave his head. Vicki brings lunch from some place that serves an upscale meat and two veggies. Brooks wants to take Vicki to a nice hotel for the weekend, but she has to babysit and offers up the following weekend. Brooks is “unavailable” (he muttered that and I had to listen twice).  Unavailable because….? That should be Vicki’s first THREE questions. I’m GUESSING she supports his ass. The next weekend he goes to Mississippi to see his kids and his daughter’s play. Really? I thought all his exes despised him. hmmm. The whole scene seemed very scripted  and uncomfortable. What woman would not ask what he is doing during that middle weekend?

Tamra is meeting with a speech coach because she’s “never spoke” in front of people before. Blah blah whatever. I’m bored. I’m focused on how creepy this speech expert dude is. Continue reading »

RHOOCcast2Ooops. I lost track of time while babysitting another thread. So this isn’t going to be a full recap. Or even much of a recap at all. Let’s call it a “random thoughts” post tonight. I find myself saying that a lot about The Real Housewives of Orange County. It’s not that I don’t like the show, there just usually isn’t a whole lot to comment on.  We begin, or at least I’m beginning at the Wine for Wives Infomercial. Immediately upon arrival it seems the evil hand of Tamra is already stirring the pot.  Everyone is staying in the same building except for Vicki who has been ostracized.  Vicki already feels out of place being the only single lady there and now she is not even in the same building with the wives. She gets a little teary-eyed and the evil blonds immediately start to mock her.Tamra does the Adrienne Maloof “Someone is crying!” routine. They must teach them that in Bravo villain school. Terry  and Lydia each offer to take Vicki into their room (I am sure Heather will have a fit about that) which I am sure only made Vicki feel worse. Poor Vick. RHOOCcast2Time for the Real Housewives of Orange County again. It seems like the weeks have just been flying by lately. I think it was last week that someone pointed out that my recap was not thorough enough for their liking. That person will probably be disappointed again. I’m probably not going to give a huge blow-by-blow unless something really interesting happens.

Somehow I was a couple minutes behind (must have paused the TV) so when I tune in we have an unlikely trio of Heather, Tamra and Lydia out for lunch. Lydia is talking about her mother, who is very wealthy. so she will be considered eccentric rather than batshit crazy like us commoners. Heather is blathering about not wanting to dislike Lydia based on her friendship with Alexis; but, both Heather and Tamra deemed her “guilty by association” last week. Their real motive is to pump her for information and see if they can turn her to the darkside because they saw somewhat less than unwavering support of Alexis from her last week. In Lydia’s talking head, she says that Tamra was straight crazy, while Tamra referred to herself as ‘vocal’. Tamra lists off a string of insults about Alexis with Heather backing her up. The super religious Lydia seems to be agreeing in principle. Lydia is trying to be on both teams. Honey, you have to pick your side on “Housewives” it’s war and there is no Switzerland. Gretchen is being just as bad as Tamra clapping her hands and acting like a three year old. Tamra literally has her fingers in her ears now. Sane adult women just do not act this way. Tamra is screaming at Vicki to pick a side. I am so sick of the semantics about whether or not the term bullying is applicable. Now Tamra is threatening to throw Heather out for pointing out Vicki didn’t run after her.

Tamra’s best line so far, “Someone is going to bless this fucking building!”

This marked the highest-rated episode of the season to-date among all key demos and featured guests Porsha Stewart from “The Real Housewives of Atlanta” and actress Vivica A. Fox. Immediately following, “Fashion Queens” scored 693,000 A18-49 and 1.3 million total viewers up 11 percent and 15 percent, respectively, from the prior week’s episode (4/14/13). This was the highest-rated episode of the season to-date among all key demos.

RHOOCcast2We’re back in the OC already. It seems like we were just there! I am noticing Vicki’s face swelling in the previous clips than I did the first time through. Now I see what y’all are talking about. I generally do more typing than looking on this show. Um, scene one and I already have to be mean. I don’t know whose outfit is worse, Vicki’s strapless sundress with white around her midsection, or Alexis’s black coochie cutters. I’m starting to think it is my TV or the way that this is filmed. I did smash some buttons accidentally the other day and my TV may be set wrong. Everyone looks wide as a barn. Crap it is my TV.

Heather has a radio gig. Let’s count the number of times Heather takes a stab at Terry. Heather is pretty good on the radio. Of course she is going to talk about how she is not a bully. I really want Terry to come in on the break and give her a shot of botox above her left eye. Her right eye is jacked up a full half-inch higher than the left and it bugs me.   Continue reading »

Between the Jodi Arias trial and all the new posts to moderate today and the terrible attacks on Boston, I’m a bit burnt out and blogging about a frivolous housewives seems a bit out of place, but here we go. We start with Alexis visiting baby Troy. Vicki is going to be called Nana by the baby. Alexis asks about Brooks. Vicki says she has not seen him in 6 weeks. Briana smirks as if that is not true. Lots of tension between Briana and Vicki about Brooks. Briana says that she will move out if Brooks is allowed in the house she pays rent in. I’d kick her ass out if I was Vicki. Renters or not, you don’t give a roommate, let alone your mother an ultimatum on who she can date. Kids today!

Gretchen is looking for a baby gift, I assume for Vicki’s grandson with Tamra. Tamra has Gretchen try on a baby carrier and puts a doll in it. They are terrorizing the store and the cashier seems a bit appalled. Continue reading »

RHOOCcast2We are back at Heather’s party and the tension remains between Vicki’s face and everyone else.  No one wants to ask about the stitches under her chin. Gretchen and Vicki are playing a game of “I’m not going to ask her, you ask her!” about her face and about Brooks. Eddie comes by just long enough to get his face on camera before heading off to a city council meeting for permits for the gym. Everyone is asking Tamra when the date of her wedding is…she doesn’t have one because Eddie won’t set one. Vicki brings up the onion ring thing. LOL. Heather is giving etiquette lessons on how to eat everything.

Gretchen is interrogating Vicki about Brooks. Essentially she says they have taken a step back. Gretchen is all, “Now you know what I felt like when I was dating Slade and everyone hated him and said bad things.” I guess she does have a point. Vicki makes a joke about Tamra giving her and Gretchen the evil eye because they are having pleasant conversation. Tamra is not amused by the comment. Tamra and Vicki have a pretty civilized conversation and suddenly Tamra is runs off crying saying she doesn’t want to do this. Drama.

Meanwhile, Alexis and Jim are taking dance lessons for their date night. Alexis says “no one knows this” but Jim and I were having financial issues last year. Really? Honey when TMZ knows it, everyone knows it. We knew. Alexis said she didn’t have any friends last year but now she has Vicki. The point of the whole scene was to say that Jim is not going to be such a hot-head this season. Continue reading »
