RHONYramonabidetI admit it. I’ve gotten lazy during this whole Jodi Arias Trial. All I really had to do was put up a daily update and sit back and wait for folks to show up and discuss it to death in the comments. I suspect that a lot of my sources are busy with the trial too because there hasn’t been that much housewives stuff reported to me. To carry on with my lazy reporting, I’m going to do a hodge-podge of housewives updates here. kareemHow did I not now that Kareem Abdul-Jabbar was an educated, intelligent author? I have been enjoying watching him and other minor celebrities (he’s the only household name on the show, the others are…um..not) on Splash! There, I said it. For reasons I am not very clear on, Kareem has written a nearly 3000 word article for HuffPo about the real housewives. It’s interesting.  But for today’s too long, didn’t read, Internet user, I will include some of my favorite parts below for those who don’t want to read the whole thing. And for the new folks that like reading such things I will direct you to another post I made, which is one of my favorites about Camille Paglia’s take on The Real Housewives franchises. After that story was brought to Bravo’s attention, Andy had Camille on WWHL. I’m predicting we see Karrem on WWHL soon.

Tonight Andy has 99 problems and they are all bitches, it’s called the Bravo upfronts! It seems like just yesterday that Sheree Whitfield got fired just before the Bravo Upfronts. But in reality that was a full year ago.  Last year at this time, the upfronts party was televised on WWHL. That was a straight up disaster! But live party or no, the upfronts are usually very informative. We can tell who is coming back for another season by who shows up. Here is the tea…

UPDATE: Kim Richards and Heather Dubrow were both reportedly absent from upfronts. No idea if they had a note. Did Heather have a prior commitment or did she quit mid-season a la Kim Zolciak? (Update again, Heather says she has spring break with the kids already planned. Didn’t Kim Z already use that excuse once?) Has Kim Richards finally had enough? Or is this yet another accommodation? Andy asks Carole why she did the show. I loved her response. “As a journalist it appealed to me. Like most journalists we are attracted to spectacle. Whether it is politics or war. ” There has been speculation she was under cover on a journalism assignment.  And they show the scene where Carole is all high and mighty about the term ‘Indian”. It’s hard to look worse than the Countess (silent o) but it seems Bravo is doing their best to make Carole look bad in this retrospective. I love Luann’s dress, btw. If I had the birth certificates on my Choctaw ancestors I would qualify for lots of money. Unfortunately, us Indians didn’t have birth certificates back then. I’m okay with Indian as a term Carole. While it is a misnomer, it’s what we have always called it.Technically this is Carole’s segment and Luann is trying to upstage her though. Something about earrings. As I pause the show Ramonja looks really bored waiting for their turn.  ANNNNNND we have our first plug. It was from Luann for Life & Style. Carole is a fucking PRINCESS Luann. I don’t know why you think she borrows clothes. She fucking rich. Not Nene Leakes rich, but you know, ACTUALLY RICH. LOL Luann mentions Life & Style again. CONTRACT MUCH? To which Carole replies,” it’s not Vogue” Touche. We are really focused on Princess Carole from the outset.  Makes sense she is much beloved and ratings gold for all of the opposite reasons housewives are usually loved. Wow, there are a whole lot of assholes on the Internet. I mean I get that people on reality shows, particularly on Bravo are pretty much begging to be mocked. I get it. I mock them myself. What I don’t get is how invested in hatred some people are. Aviva Drescher did a cover for a new magazine called Gladys. She was listed as one of 40 people the magazine found inspirational. They shot some lovely pictures and recognized her for her work with the charity, One Step Ahead Foundation. She posted the pictures on her Facebook page and almost immediately people began saying really vile things. Why were those people on her Facebook within minutes of the pictures being posted? What is wrong with people?  Anyway, it’s a lovely picture and Aviva really does a lot for charity.
