After writing almost 1,500 blog posts here, there are times when I know I have covered something before and want to link to it. Nothing is more frustrating than not being able to find previous relevant posts. Alas, I have looked all morning for two posts about Bethenny Frankel. I distinctly remember researching Warren Lichtenstein and yet nothing shows up in search, in categories or in the archive month of things that occurred. So I am just going to rewrite the gist of what I posted. Continue reading

Two days before Christmas, Bethenny releases a statement that is floating around several sites saying that she and Jason are separating. I didn’t believe it. Mainly because I didn’t want to believe it. Unfortunately, it’s true. Bethenny has tweeted, “I am heartbroken. I am sad. We will work through this as a family.” I’m a bit sad too. I really had hoped that these two could work it out. Although there has been speculation about the marriage crumbling for months, I imagine the family drama surrounding Christmas had a lot to do with the final split. I’m sure Jason wanted to go home to his family and Bethenny didn’t. She seems to have major issues in family situations and Jason is super family friendly. Half my twitter TL is venting about attending family events this season and I’m personally boycotting. So I think a lot of us can understand if Bethenny was resistant.
Bethenny’s complete statement follows the page break. Continue reading
Basically, this is a relationship where despite loving each other they unintentionally push each others buttons. Which is great for us and not so great for them. I may be naive but I actually believe Bethenny and Jason. I believe the boat story despite some coast guard guy saying they were never in danger. I don’t think it was a life or death trauma, despite Bethenny’s over reaction. But I believe the TV therapist had a broken GPS and didn’t know how to get through the water without running aground. I think that while there are “scenes” where the producers tell them what they want them to talk about or where they want them to go, that we see the real Bethenny. I think we see the real Jason too. At least as real as you can be on a “reality show.” I also don’t see more product placement on the show than any of the others. I guess I am pulling for Bethenny to get better, to get happier, to enjoy all the great things she has. Am I the only one? The ratings for this show are not good. Am I the only one watching?
