In the April issue of Elle magazine, on news stands March 20th, Heidi Klum has a photo spread sporting Marc Jacobs, Calvin Klein and Burberry and looking a bit thinner than usual. She gave Elle a brief interview about her split from Seal after seven years of marriage and four children. She discussed why she hasn’t said anything to the press about the breakup, how she feels about Seal speaking with the media and how she and the kids are doing now.
“I don’t want to talk positively or negatively about the ups and downs that we had. Every couple goes through things. Unfortunately, we’re in the public, so the highs are out there. But I don’t think it’s necessary—especially for our children—to have the lows being printed in magazines and talked about.
To the outside world, you don’t really share all the things that happen. You kind of share just the most amazing sides. But I don’t really want to get into any of that stuff. With my life, my family, my business – I want to go forward. I feel like already there are so many things being said about us – about him, about me. I’m not going to comment. Otherwise it makes you angry. You can’t always call and say, ‘This is not true, but this part is true.’ “
When asked her feelings about Seal speaking to media about the divorce right away, Heidi replied, “‘He’s a grown man. I can’t tell him what to do and what not to do. It’s hard. People don’t need to know who did what. I don’t want to talk positively or negatively about the ups and downs that we had.”
Regarding how she is holding up in the wake of the divorce and the media coverage she told Elle, “I’m a lioness. I have four cubs. I’m a mom. I want to take care of my kids and protect them. I don’t want to talk about them, or him, or me. I feel like I’m in the eye of the tornado. It’s emotions inside of your body that are a tornado. And then the outside world doing all this craziness—with you wanting it or not wanting it—is another tornado. But as hard as it is, so is life. And sometimes I think a curve-ball just comes at you. Instead of something straight that you catch, it hits you in the head from the side that you didn’t expect. I’m not a robot. I’m not made of stone.”
Many people originally did not believe the couple were really divorcing because their public image of their marriage was so strong. Also, Seal had an album come out just as the divorce was announced. Sadly, it’s starting to be evident that the marriage is indeed over.

Am I the only one who hopes Seal and Heidi Klum get back together? I am trying to avoid the nitty gritty details, especially the gossip about Seal having anger issues because I don’t want to believe it. I really like their little family.
Anyway, Seal is in Australia on tour for his new Soul2Soul album and he stopped by the Fifi and Jules Morning Radio Show to give a short interview. He discusses his reasons for talking about the spilt and tells why he went on Ellen Degeneres and Piers Morgan so quickly after the breakup. You know where to find the tea!
Fifi and Jules (who sound just like you might imagine by the way) asked Seal why he decided to discuss the divorce on TV when Heidi was not speaking about it publicly. This was his response:
When you publicize your marriage as much as our marriage was publicized, when you renew wedding vows, when you do all those things, what you are saying to people is, you’re giving people a picture of an ideal relationship that people aspire to. When it goes south, you can’t all of a sudden take the philosophy of a monk and decide to go for a vow of silence. It doesn’t really work like that.I respect my wife’s decision not to talk about that, but I felt that people at least deserved some kind of explanation why the picture of the ideal wasn’t what they thought it was.
Seal also pointed out that his interviews with Ellen Degeneres and Piers Morgan were scheduled three months in advance and timed to coincide with the release of his album, Soul2Soul. Soul has many concerts in Australia covering five cities. He is also slated to be one of the judges for the next season of the Australian version of The Voice and the filming begins very soon. I for one would love to see that show!
