So move over Kim Kardashian, Evelyn Whoneedsanewlastname is claiming your title for the shortest amount of time from I do to I want a divorce. After Evelyn’s PR team released this statement
It is with great sadness and much trepidation that I release this statement addressing the domestic violence incident that happened this past Saturday. I am deeply disappointed that Chad has failed to take responsibility for his actions and made false accusations against me, it is my sincere hope that he seeks the help he needs to overcome his troubles. Domestic violence is not okay and hopefully my taking a stand will help encourage other women to break their silence as well. I’m grateful to my family, friends and fans for the outpouring of support during this difficult time.
Evelyn has apparently started the divorce proceedings. That is a record 42 days. Take that, Kim K! It seems clear that Evelyn is trying to be sure she is recognized, particularly by VH1, as the victim in this situation. And clearly, she is the victim in this situation. However, it is evident here and across the Internet that she is not getting a lot of sympathy due to her own nationally televised history of aggressive behavior. Whether that is fair or not, is irrelevant. What she and her PR team are trying to secure is that VH1 doesn’t finally throw in the towel Basketball Wives, a show that should have been cancelled well prior to this. There has been a growing wave of criticism for the show since the violence escalated. Much of that violence was due to the bullying behavior of Evelyn and her posse.
In addition to losing her meal ticket husband, having a facial wound and losing her VH1 spin-off , Evelyn’s brother-in-law who can be seen walking her down the aisle last month in the picture above. passed away yesterday. He was featured on the now defunct VH1 show about Chad and Evelyn’s fairytale marriage. We know this of course because Evelyn and her people have been in constant contact with TMZ over the last few days getting the appropriate spin on the story.
An overwhelming amount of the commentary I have read on all this seems to be that Karma is a real and active force in the world. What do y’all think?
