|Nene Leakes at Brandy Norwood’s Superbowl Party.
Nene Leakes has been making some waves in the gossip blogs lately. She’s been catching some slack from some actors like Brian White who recently gave this comment to Hello Beautiful, “You can’t call it a stereotype if it’s the majority. The most prevalent image in “urban society” right now is women like Nene Leakes. If there’s a fight that breaks out on ‘Love & Hip Hop’ those people are on every blog, the cover of every magazine the next week,” While I personally agree with that comment it was not well received and led to in part, the tweets I mentioned here. And no, Brian Williams does not hate “black people” Hello Beautiful, He’s a lovely black man, (interracial man? does it matter?) who is married to a white woman. Welcome to 2012.
ANYWAY, tonight Nene wants you to know that Brandy Norwood, the newest cast mate on The Game likes her. So she tweeted this picture of her and Brandy at Brandy’s Superbowl party tonight. Great way to stay in the Sunday night blogs on an off night, Nene! Am I the only one who wonders if Gregg was there?
Remember a couple of weeks ago when I tried to answer y’alls questions about Brittany Daniel and whether or not she will be on season five of The Game?
Well tonight at 10 p.m. on BET The Game
kicks off season five, and just as I told you, Brandy Norwood is the new love interest of Coby Bell’s character, Jason. In the premiere episode, Norwood’s character, Chardonnay appears to have married Jason in a drunken quickie wedding in Mexico! Norwood is in 11 episodes in season five. It is unclear if Bell will be on every episode as he was also working on Burn Notice during filming. In the very first episode Jason takes some heat from his new wife about his lack of desire to be in a relationship with a black woman. Let’s just say Chardonnay does not let that sort of prejudice go unanswered. Chardonnay is described as a very spicy character.
On Wendy’s show today, Tia Mowry and Wendy Raquel Robinson said that season five is going to be less dark and a lot more funny. Tia said Nene’s character is friends with Tasha Mack and is a clothing designer. Nene’s scene apparently takes place at her fashion show. Wendy immediately cracked a She by Sheree joke. heh. The girls said Nene was “a diva in a good way” and that she knew all her lines and was professional. No word yet on when the episode with Nene airs.

Also today, Wendy asked the girls about Brittany Daniel. Wendy implied it had something to do with her break up with Keenan Ivory Wayans and also that Brittany “had a nervous breakdown”. The girls just kept repeating “she took some time out for herself”. If I recall correctly someone said way back around the time of the premiere that Brittany left to take care of her health. It sounds like she just needed a mental health day, or maybe a couple of months. It happens.
Yesterday on The Wendy Williams Show, Wendy tried again to make her “hot topics” story from last November about Brandy and Kim K clashing on the set of The Marriage Counselor work. If you were reading my filming updates here, you would know that Kim came in and filmed her scenes before Brandy started filming. They had no scenes together and never ran into each other because of that, not because Brandy raised a stink about not wanting to see her. However, since the Kardashian Fairytale Divorce, if seems like Brandy is missing her old friend Kim K and extended the olive branch to Kim on the show yesterday offering to be a friend to her as she deals with the divorce fallout. awwww.
Check out this interview that Brandy and Cody did with USA Today yesterday:
I decided that I should probably start answering y’alls email questions here. I find that if one person has a question about something, usually there are more people who are interested. So from now on, when you send a question, let me know if it is okay if I use your name! I am by no means an expert on all the Atlanta tea but I will do my best to find the answers if I don’t know them. Here is the first of what I hope will be lots more TeaMail from Tamara!
Dear Tamara, Hiya! Here is hoping you had an great holiday. I was wondering if you would spill the tea on The Game since it is produced in Atlanta. What happened to Brittany Daniel? I find it disturbing that all of the cast members were elated when they were picked up by BET but no one seems to mention her or act as if she is missed.

Thanks for the teamail! From what I understand, when The Game was cancelled by the CW, and before it was picked up by BET, Coby Bell was snatched up for a major role on Burn Notice by USA.
Then, when BET picked up The Game, Bell was called back to work. Arrangements were made to allow Bell to keep a recurring spot on The Game. During season four, the first season on BET, the Bell and Daniel characters were separated. Rumors started when Daniel was the only cast member not to show for the premiere episode party that she was unhappy with her “demotion” to recurring character. During season four, Daniel’s character checked out after six episodes to “go find herself”. I can understand that it must have been very disappointing to have such an integral role suddenly side-lined because of someone else’s career obligations. Clearly, both Daniel and her large fanbase were disappointed. I am unable to find Daniel doing anything that would have made her unavailable for season five, but she appears not to be appearing on the season. There are outraged fans all over the Internet who are demanding her return; however, season five has finished filming and Brandy Norwood was introduced as Bell’s character’s love interest. Looks like she is gone for good. It is interesting that neither Daniel nor any of her castmates have acknowledged that she is not on season five in the media. A few disreputable sites out there have tried to start race-based rumors for Daniel’s departure but there is no truth to any of that nonsense. It seems that when Bell became a recurring character, Daniel’s role was simply written out. She may not have realize that her last six episodes would be her last until she got the scripts at filming. That probably did not make for a pleasant filming experience for her. But, it happens. If you recall, Daniel was a recast from the original actress who played Kelly Pitts. Sometimes things just get changed up. That said, the BET site has hinted that couples counseling could be in the future for Kelly and Jason…but I would not count on that actually happening. That post happened prior to season five filming. My guess is that you have seen the last of Brittany Daniel on the game.
Here is a clip from the upcoming season. Nene Leakes has a small cameo in the new season. See if you can find her in the clip!

Season five Brandy Norwood
After another night of late shooting, Tyler Perry’s The Marriage Counselor has wrapped. According to tweets by Brandy Norwood, the plan was for a long weekend of very emotional scenes. Brandy was being coached by the legendary Susan Batson who came to the Atlanta set to help her with the dramatic final days of shooting.
Lance Gross, was cast in the leading male role of Bryce, the husband of title character Judith played by Jurnee Smollet. Brandy plays the part of Melinda, Bryce’s co-worker who has an unexpected connection to Bryce’s wife. The final days on the set resolved these complications as Judith realizes the severity of the choices she made in her marriage.
Brandy tweeted this photo from the set of The Marriage Counselor at 1:30 a.m. Atlanta time.
It was a very late night at Tyler Perry Studios. Brandy was cast to play the part of Lance’s best friend and coworker. Is it me or are there a whole lot of people in this movie?
