Every thing old is new again. Remember the reunion show for season one of Real Housewives of Atlanta? No? Well, it was Nene, Lisa and DeShawn on one couch and Kim and Sheree on the other. Nene let out her now infamous “Close your legs to married men!” comment for the first time and called Kim a “trashy hooker”. Flash forward to today and Nene pretends to love Marlo. I guess ghetto hookers are more acceptable to Nene. Kim for her part tried to explain the whole cancer story involving her wigs by saying she had lost 25 lbs and a lot of hair and her doctor was just sure she had cancer but it turned out she didn’t. Somehow that was supposed to explain her saying she started wearing wigs when she had cancer. Lisa jumped up at one point and held Nene back from going after Kim. A move that may have played into giving Lisa one more season while DeShawn Snow was let go for not bringing enough drama. Oh and Lisa called Kim pathetic, a habitual liar, in need of medication and threatened to flip her over the couch. Ah… memories.This year’s reunion was filmed at the Biltmore in the Georgian Ballroom pictured above, the same location as the very first reunion. It’s a place normally booked for happy times, weddings, receptions, anniversary parties. This year looks like Kandi, Nene and Cynthia on one couch and Kim, Sheree, and Phaedra on the other. At the first reunion Nene threatened Kim saying not to touch her or she would ”wear that wig right off your head”. Nene’s diva attitude has quadrupled since then so Lord only knows just how bad it got this time. This season’s finale has been described by production as “the best reunion ever” and by other insiders as “brutal.” I guess we’ll see in a couple weeks.
Edited to add: There are THREE MORE regular episodes before the reunion. I can’t remember ever wanting a show to be over so badly.
