I remember reading about Grant Henry and his alternative persona Sister Louisa way, way back when Hollis Gillespie wrote for Creative Loafing and before she got all famous. Grant Henry is a bartender who used to tend bar in lots of Atlanta’s trendier bars. He’s also sometimes Sister Louisa a beehive wearing lover of the Lord. Which is why he opened a bar that the locals call ‘Church’. Which really didn’t cause a commotion at all here in the bible belt. Unless you read the yelp comments, or other reviews left by confused but saved souls who had no idea where they had gone to worship.

Henry has a collection of his art, which he didn’t paint but sort found and embellished much in the way Perez Hilton used to draw phalluses on celebrity photos back when he was a blogger and before he became famous for being the worst dressed gay man on the planet. His pieces are for sale at Church in between services and mini-shots out of communion glasses.  But some things are not for sale as Lady Gaga found out when she tried to buy a Virgin Mary Medallion on display at Church a few months back. Even Sister Louisa ain’t gonna sell you Jesus’ momma.

Henry kept the patrons from snapping her picture, because Lord knows Lady Gaga doesn’t like to have her picture taken and shuns attention to maintain her modesty. Lady Gaga isn’t the first or the last celebrity to stretch out on the blood of Christ red sofa at Church. With all the filming going on around town it’s become a great place for celebrity spotting.

This past weekend Ben Stiller rented out part of Church to celebrate the halfway point in filming Neighborhood Watch.  Neighborhood Watch, a comedy starring Stiller, Vince Vaughn and  Jonah Hill that has been filming all over my neck of the woods  for several weeks but I have yet to get up off my big fat and check it out.  I need y’all to email me the tea, cause I’m laaaaazzzy with this time change thing, I ain’t gonna lie to y’all.
BTW, If y’all were planning to buy me something for Christmas, that Sister Louisa piece on the left is my favorite. Though that chick don’t know from high hair. Sister Louisa does though, her beehive is huge!  Anyway, that picture is long sold so y’all are off the hook.

 So who wants to go to Church with me and look for the celebrities visiting Atlanta? Anyone up for a game of ping pong, a hot dog and a Rice Krispy treat?  ~@tamaratattles
