It’s a slow news day when a random RHOA filming gets picked up by TMZ and an ill-bred young woman’s vulgar tweets get picked up by Page Six. I have just a few thoughts on the subject, but my focus is not so much on the same old, same old drama, but on the theme of the party. And some poorly thought out decisions by production.
The theme of the party was “Gurls and Gays.” I have so many problems with this “theme.” Let’s start with the fact that RHOA is infamous for how many of the women demean and disparage gay men. Nene Leakes is at the top of that list along with Marlo and Porsha. It part of the reason Miss Lawrence left the show. Andy Cohen is very selective about his confrontation of RHOA who use gay slurs on the show. So the whole concept of Nene hiring dozens of gay men to stand around as extras for her event with white pants and not shirt seems wrong to me. I was also disappointed to see Derek J participating in this particular event. I admit I am still traumatized by the Pulse massacre so I may be overly sensitive.
The next idea that was poorly thought out by production was their plan to bring back as many former housewives as possible for season ten. It sounds great in theory, but it would probably be best not to bring them all back of the same event. This just leads to all the returnees showing out and fighting for air time. I’m looking at you Marlo Hampton.
Kim Biermann’s entire storyline is to fight with Kenya. Her two favorite things to call Kenya out on are her dating life, and her abandonment by her mother. Apparently, it is just fine for Kim to talk about Kenya’s mother, but Kenya pointing out that Kim tried to pimp out her daughter for John Legend tickets sends Kim into a fury. As Kandi would say, “Don’t start none, won’t be none.” Her back up plan to using Brielle for tickets was to say that her five year old son that was attacked by their dog was a huge fan. These are things she did online, for the world to see. Her attacks on Kenya are about private matters, like her childhood abandonment with her child, and now her new husband who she has worked very hard to keep private until I had to out her wedding in an exclusive on my site.
UPDATE: Kenya has now stated that she did NOT mention Kim’s children at all, and she refuses to engage with children on social media. Kim appears to be trying to spin the story to gain attention to herself.
Look, I’ve been a Kim fan since this blog started. She has long been my favorite. I viewed her as sort of a hooker with a heart of gold. I enjoyed Don’t Be Tardy. I defended her foul language around the kids. I felt like Kroy was a calming force and the voice of reason. I hoped that Brielle was just pretending to be dumb.
Those days are over. The is no condoning your 20-year-old THOT calling a woman old enough to be her mother dumb and ugly on social media. Kenya Moore has not had nearly the work at her age that Brielle has had at age 20. She was Miss USA, she had overcome an underprivileged childhood to make herself a millionaire. She didn’t do any of that laying on her back. It’s sad to me that Kim has already strapped the mattress to Brielle’s back and pointing her at athletes. This insures she will never grow up to have a tenth of the self-worth Kenya has. Brielle’s situation is really sad. I see her as a casualty of reality TV and some really unfortunate lack of parenting. I don’t think her bad behavior being all over the websites helpful to her as it rewards her for displaying her lack of home training.
The party can basically be summed up by Marlo and Kim coming for the Queen. Clearly Kim went home crying to her daughter. Marlo went back to wherever she came from. Thank goodness she left the tags on her clothes. Alledgely.
In other news, Nene was successful in keeping Porsha a couple of doors down at her house. And Kandi missed the entire thing because she was in Kenya with Todd for Shamea’s wedding.
