Brandi Glanville: Another Day, Another Housewife That Doesn’t Pay Taxes

RHOBH Brandi 2

The Feds are coming for Brandi Glanville for $29,396.35 from 2013, and $82,448.38 from 2014 and that is probably just Bravo. Why don’t these people know that as independent contractors that Bravo sends a copy of the 1099 they send to you each year to Uncle Sam?  I wonder if the publishing companies use a 1099 or if this includes her book money? Because Brandi was on RHOBH (albeit for peanuts) and her first book came out in 2013.

Also, if she doesn’t pay taxes how come she can’t afford to pay rent and gets evicted out of everywhere the moment her lease is up?

Apparently, Brandi found out during her podcast yesterday.

Let the usual denials and tax man blaming begin…

Boggles my mind. You can’t hide your cash from Uncle Sam (unless you’re a major corporation using offshore tax havens, of course lol)

Where is all her money going, then?

It always seems to happen to the most unsavory housewives, too.

  3. This stymies me..what actual reason do people NOT pay taxes..anywhere in the world! wow..who is she gonna blame…her “gaygent” (putrid phrase)…her PR…her ex..her kids..holy crap..A lien is frightening..the claw of Big Brother!…gulp

  4. JoJoFLL

Brandi has always said she is horrible with money.

During these years while Brandi was doing $9.99 searches on Vanderpump claiming her bankruptcy, she should of been looking after her own life. Hope wasting money on plastic surgery was worth it Brandi.

She should have paid her taxes! She wrote two books, appeared on RHOBH and also has a podcast. How embarrassing for her sons who are old enough to read about this on the Internet. She needs to get it together!!

On the scale on embarrassing her children I think this falls way down on the list, tampon string, barely legal sexfest televised, the list is too long. Karma comes for all of us.

WTF is WRONG with these people?!? What a joke.

Some people bring out the unsavory schadenfreude in me, and Brandi is one of them.

To be as fair as I possibly can with her, if I were paying a professional to handle my taxes (as she alleges) I would just assume it was being handled properly. I don’t know tax law, but isn’t someone partially “covered” (for lack of a better word) if they were using an accountant in good faith? She still has to pay the money, obviously, but I’m curious if jail-time is on the table.

    • Loripalooza

CPA here. No she is not “covered” because she used a “professional” to handle her money and do her taxes. The IRS does not care. That is not to that Brandi cannot sue the person/people for mishandling her finances and tax filings but Brandi herself is on the hook for what she owes. She should get new CPAs and let them negotiate a settlement with the IRS. Settlements are more common than people may realize but they do take quite a bit of time to work out usually. If she gets the right CPA she should be able to get all penalties, interest, and late fees waived which many times are more than the actual tax owed (which will NOT be wavied). I feel sure the amounts she is said to owe includes the penalties, interest, and late fees. BTW, publishing companies do send 1099s. Authors are independent contractors not employees of the publishing company.

I have a hard time beliieving her manager is responsible for her taxes. Thats not their forte.

Couldn’t happen to a lovelier housewife. All snark intended.

I might be a lone voice in this, but I feel *a little bit* sorry for Brandi. I don’t think she’s a Teresa Giudice-esque master criminal just pretending she’s dumb as a box of rocks – she actually is as dumb as a box of rocks!

I’ve always suspected Brandi abuses alcohol and meds, and perhaps has some kind of undiagnosed mental health issue or long-term depression, so getting out of control with her finances (and the rest of her life) isn’t surprising. I just hope her boys are ok in all this.

It’s not like she has any assets to leverage to get out of this debt, either. As TT pointed out, she’s never managed to even hold on to a rental, let alone bought a home, so God knows how she’ll get out from under this.

Yep, I can see that. I think she just wasn’t vigilant about deadlines or keeping up with paperwork and the like. Not at all like Teresa or Phaedra, where those two are 100% aware of the fact that they’re deliberately committing crimes, regardless of the lies they tell. Brandi’s just not very smart. She needs a better accountant.

    • TheArtistFormerlyKnownAsYoya

Teresa isn’t pretending to be stupid, she really is stupid. I think Brandi has borderline personality disorder. She is also stupid, but where Teresa is greedy, Brandi is impulsive and a mess. Doesn’t make me feel sorry for her.

All that extra $$ and her face still looks the same? You’d think she could afford someone to fix it.

  12. Minky

Okay: What Brandi needs to do is stop blabbing these things in interviews for free and sell her stories about the Wives to gossip rags. I’m not saying that’s a noble way to make a living, but it is legal. And it would probably help her pay off this tax debt pretty quickly.

For some reason I can’t picture Kyle doing anything harder than a martini or a joint. Erica too. The others, I just don’t know.

She was on Amy Phillips show “Reality Checked” she also said she had just completed a “cooking show” for Fox Network……never saw her cook once, but maybe she can pay her taxes with the money! Amy asked her about her appearance on the reunion last year, she said it was her idea to appear on tape, she felt like “everyone talked about her all season” and she wanted to have her “say.” She refused to sit on the couch, as she put it so she pitched the idea of the taped piece and they went for it.

  14. Margaret Shepard

Wow between this and her Joanna Krupa smelly fish lawsuit, no bueno indeed.

  15. Erica

I heard the interview too, you’ve all left out a detail or two but I thought discussing this kind of thing would get me into WLS.

  16. RebeccaBartholow

I love her face. My Mom was a model in the 70’s and she said her agent said she should always look like she was smelling a turd. It was sophisticated.

  17. Snowflake

As for how she may owe taxes, she probably tried to deduct every beauty appointment and allllllllllll the surgery. Not. Deductible. Hair extensions? Not deductible. Botox? Not deductible. Gym? No. Shoes? No. But wax. Nope. Vag surgery? Noooooooooooo.

Not even your attorney fees for the lawsuit. That Bravo income is pretty much all taxable.
    Hard lesson to learn.

  18. Betty

She’s screwed. She already has no money. Too bad she couldn’t act normal and keep, her housewives gig and LVP as a friend.

Radio Andy really is the same as WWHL. ive only listened a couple times but they usually interview the HW about what happened on WWHL or the reunions.

    • Erica

Radio Andy is the entire station – to what show are you referring? Because Sandyland, Bevelations, My Favorite Song with John Benjamin Hickey (one of my faves), Gentlemen’s Code with Nigel Barker to name a few hardly EVER mention Bravo or the Housewives. Sure they mention Andy, but usually in terms of the social scene or just mentioning that he’s their boss. Andy might do an episode of Deep and Shallow with a Housewife (loved the one with Rinna) but more often than not it is someone not related to Bravo at all. (Highly recommend Deep and Shallow. If it is still on the On Demand – check out the Ana Gastyer interview, and don’t miss the multi-part Sandy Gallin interview (that talent agent has represented EVERYONE I think!)

With Brandi it’s always someone else’s fault. She never takes responsibility for her actions and that is one of the many reasons why I can’t stand her.

  21. OmgOmg

I am terrified of Radio Andy — that is like full on Bravo addiction. I’ve literally only turned it on like 3 X — I’ve heard Sandyland (she is funny) and the past few times I’ve been heading into Ralph’s whatever was on was an actual housewife talking. Nothing beats TT super witty and on point recaps. I have been off Bravo for 2 months but slowly sucked back in now. I don’t care for Brandi either. After RHONY part 3 tonight, I’m a gonna be done. Well except for when Vanderpump Rules starts, that show is SO entertaining.
