Meet the Guys of #BB18 Not a Hot One in the House

BB18 Paulie
Paulie  Calafiore
, 27

Hometown: Howell, NJ
Current City: Howell, NJ
Occupation: DJ
Three adjectives that describe you: Driven, passionate, and quick-witted.
Favorite Activities: I love various martial arts, exercise, and instruments. I like Krav Maga the most on the martial arts side and playing the guitar on the instrument side.
What do you think will be the most difficult part about living inside the Big Brother house?
Being away from my family and my business. I’ll definitely have to put a lot of faith in the fact that I have good people working for me to make sure the business continues to grow, especially during the crucial months of the summer.
Which past Big Brother cast member did you like most?
Cody Calafiore from Season 16, for obvious reasons.
Do you have a strategy for winning the game?
There are multiple strategies I’ll use, none of which have any meaning prior to entering the house and seeing what pieces I’ll be playing chess with.
My life’s motto is…
A comfort zone is a wonderful place, but nothing ever grows there.
What would you take into the house, and why?
A toothbrush, toothpaste and mouthwash because it would be impossible to be social at all with rancid breath.

TT’s Thoughts: I don’t think he knows that he is gay. NTTAWWT. I think there are a lot of things he doesn’t know.

BB18 Victor

Victor Arroyo, 25

Hometown:  Slidell, LA
Current City: Slidell, LA
Occupation: Gym manager
Three adjectives that describe you: Smart, sexy, and fit.
Favorite Activities: Working out, playing soccer, and [taking] trips with my friends. Those are the things I love to do, but more than that, I love women. I’m always looking for the next girl to talk to and I’m never satisfied with what I have; I’m always wanting more.
What do you think will be the most difficult part about living inside the Big Brother house?
Being disconnected from the outside world and not knowing what my family and friends are up to, or what’s going on in the world, like the race for president, social media, etc. Not being in-the-know will definitely aggravate me. Also, being one Google search away from proving someone wrong will be the hardest thing, ever.
Do you have a strategy for winning the game?
I’m not entirely sure what I will do. Wooing the girls and having them like me is on the list. I want to underplay how smart I am and hopefully have them think I’m just a dumb guy that likes to lift and works at a gym. That might work in my favor since they will think I’m only good in physical challenges.

I want to be part of two alliances, but be loyal to one. That way, I don’t put all my eggs in one basket. I won’t change my personality though. I’ll still be the funny guy that I am and do my best to stay on everyone’s good side, while slowly stabbing people in the back.
My life’s motto is…
Get my money, develop my body, and get women. What would you take into the house, and why?
My flat bill hat because I always wear it—every day—and it’s a must with all this hair on my head. I’d also bring my stuffed toy, Ernie from Sesame Street, because I’ve had him since I was a child and he goes everywhere I go. He’s kind of like my good luck charm. Finally, all of my workout gear, including my supplements, wrist wraps, weight belt and headphones. I always need to be ready to lift.

TT’s Thoughts: Victor is a recruit. He is personable. He is Puerto Rican and so is Jozea. They may bond.  This one is going to be interesting. He may or may not have robbed a Wal*Mart when he was 17. He is in love with himself and extremely conceited. He’s a charming bad boy who the girls might fight over. But he’s likely to sleep with more than one girl in the house and cause a lot of drama.  So he is an asshole disguised as a nice guy. He might make the summer worth watching in a love to hate him sort of way.

BB18 Paul

Paul Abrahamian, 23

Hometown: Tarzana, CA
Current City: Tarzana, CA
Occupation: Clothing designer
Three adjectives that describe you: Honest, spontaneous, and energetic.
Favorite Activities: I love to play music, so a jam session is always good.  I love going to shows and concerts for the crowd surfing, mosh pits, stage diving, [and] all the fun stuff.

Traveling, hiking and sightseeing are definitely solid activities. I enjoy the outdoors, like the woods and mountains. I’m a thrill seeker, so [I like] essentially anything that can fuel that. I do enjoy a good night out with friends at a fun speakeasy bar in L.A., like Davey Wayne’s and No Vacancy.

What do you think will be the most difficult part about living inside the Big Brother house?
I’d say adapting to everyone’s personalities, dynamics, likes, and dislikes all at once. Also, feeling people out and seeing just how much of my blunt and dry humor they can take. I’m not worried about it; I thrive on situations and circumstances like this.
Do you have a strategy for winning the game?
If there’s one trait that I’m confident about, it’s that I’m sneaky. I’m very observant, remember things and handle high stress situations well. I’ll probably use people’s weaknesses against them. It’s very hard to get underneath my skin, but very easy for me to get underneath yours, so I think I can mentally crack any member. I’m really good at getting people to do what I want [and] getting them to think they’re on top of a situation when, really, they’re not.
My life’s motto is…
To live my life in such a fulfilling way that when I’m on my deathbed, there’s nothing left for me to experience.
What would you take into the house, and why?
First, [I’d take] my guitar because I love to play and write music. I think it could be fun to have it in the house and start live jams with other housemates. Also, beer and my dogs. That’d be great.

TT’s Thoughts: I love him. He’s an asshole. He is going to irritate people. He’s going try not to, but he will. He’s smart. He cusses a lot. I love him. He is my favorite so far. He’s a chess coach. Did I say I love him?

BB18 Jozea

Jozea Flores 25

Hometown: Bridgeton, NJ
Current City: Los Angeles, CA
Occupation: Make-up artist
Three adjectives that describe you: Funny, outgoing, creative strategist, and a visual genius
Favorite Activities: Gym, hiking, and yoga.
What do you think will be the most difficult part about living inside the Big Brother house?
Nothing will really be difficult about living in the Big Brother house. I’ve had roommates before and I’m accustomed to living with roommates; the only thing that’ll be difficult is sharing the bathroom because I like to take a shower every morning and not wait.
Which past Big Brother cast member did you like most?
I loved the brother who must not be named [from Season 16] because, to me, he had drive, nerve, talent, and was a very strong, competitive player.
Do you have a strategy for winning the game?
My only strategy to win the game is to use my mind to get into other people’s heads. I’ll use my love and caring for the other Houseguests to maneuver my way through this competition.
My life’s motto is…
If you can trust the ground you live on and take all the risks in the world there is to take, you should have no problem achieving your goals.
What would you take into the house, and why?
I’d take my body to win the physical challenges, my mind to be smart to win the show, and my clothes to have something to wear.

TT’s Thoughts: He is dumb as a box of rocks. He likes the damn brother. And he seemed to be avoiding saying anything to Jeff that would out him as gay. But he’s gay. And I am furious this is the gay for the season. Dammit man. Just send him home. He’s irritating. AND HE’S A RECRUIT! THIS IS WHAT THEY RECRUITED?!!!  Is it to late to get on the Worst Season Ever Bus?

BB18 Corey

Corey Brooks 25

Hometown: Dallas, TX
Current City: Dallas, TX
Occupation: Baseball coach
Three adjectives that describe you: Extraordinary, passionate, and lovable.
Favorite Activities: I love to travel. Recently, I went to San Francisco to watch my best friend, Ross Stripling, make his MLB debut for the L.A. Dodgers. I like sightseeing, hiking, getting sick bro pics, playing sports, going out and meeting people, trying out new restaurants, playing PS4, and just being active, in general.
What do you think will be the most difficult part about living inside the Big Brother house?
Not seeing my family and friends for a while, but I know it will all be worth it. Also, I think it will be tough to get into a daily routine because I like to keep busy, work out, and do things that make me happy, so I will have to figure that out.
Which past Big Brother cast member did you like most?
I really like Cody [Calafiore] from Season 16. Cody is very likable, like me. He makes rational decisions when the time comes, does well at analyzing situations, and doesn’t stir the pot at the wrong times.

The chicks also like him, so, in my eyes, he’s a very dynamic player with a lot of potential to win. I really see my game being similar to his and maybe a little mixture of Zach [Rance] from Season 16, at times. Zach likes to make moves here and there, which I do, too, because I don’t like to pass up an opportunity just because of a risk.
Do you have a strategy for winning the game?
I plan to use my great people skills and stay off the block by making as many alliances as possible, even individually. I don’t want to have too much power to where I’m forced to get blood on my hands. I’m also not going to be a floater. I’m going to be a key player in competitions and have one of the strongest social games.

I don’t want to give anyone a reason to vote me off, but if I’m ever in position to have to put someone on the block, I’ll really have to dig for a logical reason and explain why for damage control. I definitely want to have one of the strongest relationships with one or two other players that would be the strongest in the game.
My life’s motto is…
Life is like a box of chocolates. You never know what you’re gonna get!
What would you take into the house, and why?
My dog Rory and a samurai sword, so everyone knows who the boss is.

TT’s Thoughts: Douche. Recruit. Homophobe.

BB18 Glenn

Glenn Garcia 50

Hometown: Bronx, NY
Current City: Bronx, NY
Occupation: Dog groomer/former police detective
Three adjectives that describe you: Small, big, and great.
Favorite Activities: Playing with my daughter, deep-sea fishing, and traveling.
What do you think will be the most difficult part about living inside the Big Brother house?
Being away from my family, not knowing what’s going on with them or the world, and wondering if everything is OK with my loved ones.
Which past Big Brother cast member did you like most?
Will [Kirby from Season 2], Evel Dick [Donato from Season 8], Mike “Boogie” [Malin from Seasons 2 and 14], and the brother who must not be named [from Season 16] because of their style of play.
Do you have a strategy for winning the game?
Not really, because I need to see what the Houseguests are like to then make my strategy.
My life’s motto is…
Live every day like it’s your last because, one day, it will be.
What would you take into the house, and why?
My iPod, because music soothes the soul, clippers to shave my head and continue looking good, and pictures of my baby girl to keep my heart filled with joy.

TT’s Thoughts: The random old guy is always a wild card. Sometime the go out first, and other times the Jerry themselves to the end. He’s a superfan.

I’m not really impressed with anyone here other than Paul and Victor. I don’t think either of them will win.  I usually pick the winner before the show starts. I guess my pick is Tiffany.  Who is yours?

Tamara..disappointing..I always do the feeds and am a real junkie..24 hours on days off.but no eye candy this year for sure..lol..

  2. Wow. All douchey! Disappointing for sure. Still waiting to find out if vets are coming in tomorrow before I can make a pick…

  3. Teresamo

I am so excited!!! Summer will start when this show starts!

  4. OK, while none of them may be super “Hott ‘n’ Sexxy” any of the first three would do in a pinch. (And being locked in a house with them likely qualifies as “a pinch”!)

And actually, judging from the photo alone, Victor looks pretty hot to me. Personality is a whole other matter though. I have an inkling that Paul is fairly attractive underneath the beard. Maybe.

Confession: I have never watched a single minute of any season of Big Brother. Should I give it a try? What is it that people tend to like about it?

    • tamaratattles

The show is okay. It’s the live feeds we love. Imagine getting to watch all the raw footage of RHOA and then see the show they make from it. It’s very exciting.

    • Dee

I thought Paulie was cute til I read the purple pen, thank you!
Actually because I’m old I think they are all ok. The personality can make or break what you think is attractive. Thanks!

  5. D

I’m so over the casting for this show. It’s the same every season

  6. Another summer with a gross petri dish beard & hideous body tattoos. I sure hope at least his fingers are kept dry & clean.

  7. RealE

I used to love this show and have disliked it for several seasons due to the casting. The recruits are always the worst. Yet I still watch. Makes no sense.
I would love to see a strong female player like Jennelle. I would even settle for a Brittany.

  8. Dee

hmmm the one with the beard needs to shave, you can’t really see what he looks like. I do think as we get to know them we will all find someone we think is cute. I hope :)

  9. Cat

I’ll give it a watch. Because I’m already bored with Master Chef. BUT–If they bring “the brother” back, I’m out. I can’t stand that guy.

  10. Happygal

So every year I am obsessed with this show!! So looking forward to you covering it !! I could never imagine myself living in that house . The bathroom alone would gross me out. I have heard rumors who the coaches will be and am waiting to see if they r true!! Won’t spoil it here but so looking forward to tonight !!!

  11. I’m convinced Jozea was picked because he is friends with the one who shall not be named. (I’m guessing at who that is. The one who likes glitter). So, I’m hoping he will be the first one gone, but the producers will manipulate it so he stays. Sigh.

Paul sounds the most interesting from what you posted.

If Victor needs his hat because of his hair, then get the damn thing cut. Sorry, but I’m watching the Bacholerette and Jordon’s constant playing with his hair has gotten on my last nerve. Lol!

  12. Pallid Polly

TT, I never miss a post here. Never. I watch much of what you watch. More often than not, I agree with you. Love your purple pen.
I rarely crawl out of my cave but BB brings me out every year. It’s not my proudest moment but I have come to accept that I like trash television.
    Bring it on!

  13. Barbara R

So Corey really likes Cody Calafiore, who made the DUMMEST MOVE IN BB HISTORY! What an idiot!

Also, Paul’s tattoos are beyond grotesque!

    • sandra

Then he will like Paulie they will probably be pals. It should be easy for the houseguests to know who Paulie is. And yes Cody made a very STUPID move.

  14. I thought it was Marcellas who made the dumbest move in bb history by giving away the golden power of veto.

    • Barbara R

Marcellas’ move was also very dumb but it was earlier in the game and there is no way of knowing how the rest of the season would play out. Cody, on the other hand, was at the final three. He had one choice. Take Derrick or Victoria with him to final two. Take Derrick and get second prize of $50K or take Victoria and win the whole $500K. He chose Derrick. This is very similar to what Woo did on Survivor.

    • sandra

It was and he did. Dumbest move of all time.

  15. Aerin

I wish they would mix up the demographics of the houseguests a little more. It’s basically the same cast in different skin every year.

  16. Poor Victor has a misspelled Greek word tattooed on his chest for the rest of his life.

    • tamaratattles

Is that why there is a line through it? What is it supposed to say?

      • KM

Re: Victor’s chest tattoo. It’s not misspelled, it is just crossed through. It’s Epως which translates to Eros. He was the Greek god of love, equivalent to Cupid. The word translates in English to love, generally erotic, passionate, or romantic. Why señor Arroyo crossed it out though, I don’t know! Anybody??
