Andy Cohen Gets Primetime NBC New Year’s Eve Slot & New Bravo Show

Have you ever watched that show hosted by Jane Lynch called Hollywood Game Night?  Well there will be a special version of that show airing on NBC on New Year’s Eve at 10 p.m.  Andy Cohen will be hosting this special along with eight celebrity guests.  I’ve not heard who the guests are, or if the show is live but that’s a decent get for Andy.  But wait, there’s more! He’s also horning in on Carson Daly’s Live Countdown and will be joining him at 11:30 for that.  Frankly, the only gay man who will be ringing in the new year with me is Anderson Cooper and Kathy Griffin.  Because, not.even.close.

But wait there is even more. Remember  I told you I heard Andy was shopping another show (or three) featuring him to Bravo? Well they selected one called  Then and Now.  It’s basically a look back in history. And you know, they answering the burning question, “What was Andy Cohen up to when (insert major news story) happened?  Because I don’t see how we have lived without this information for this long!andy cohen

The promo on Bravo is hysterical. Some idiot says of the Nicole Brown and Ron’s deaths,  “Two people were dead and reality TV was born! ” I am sure I should know who that idiot is, but I don’t. Everything she says is offensive. Like that the trial was the model for how all reality shows should be cast!  She goes on to say even more ridiculous things about the murders. It also has Bethenny Frankel discussing the OJ Trial and saying that the whole “If it don’t fit, you must acquit! ” was so strange that a glove became such a pivotal part of the trial and “like most people fit into most gloves!”  It’s just a hot mess. Which insures that you will see Terry Dubrow on it.

Andy Cohen has no problem paying to blow out some walls on his old apartment to include a new one. That’s for sure. I wonder if it is done. I’d love to see the update.  Something tells me he will share it soon enough.

Bleh! All you had to say was Andy and Beth, not for me.

I saw that on KLG & Hoda this morning. What shocked me is that Andy previously worked at CBS news. I’m not sure about the show….I get the concept but the clip didn’t grab me.

“… be hosting this special along with eight celebrity guests.” One of them will be star of stage and [small] screen Nene Leakes !! :-)

Oh I’m sure if Nene wants on, it is part of her return to RHOA!…. sigh. But seriously after her Bra Way performance,,, I think she deserve it.

TT, speaking of which, what happened to your post on her Bra Way review? I was looking forward to reading it!

        Hope Banjo’s doing better!

  4. So sick of Andy Cohen and his Nene teeth. I won’t be watching.

Yeah I’m pretty sure they’re veneers, and they stick out just a little too far. I think it may be the same with Kim Zolciak only with her they’re so prominent her lips have trouble sliding up and down them when she talks. It’s very distracting watching her talk now.

  5. More Tea Please!

I think I’d rather watch Dr. Sandra Lee pop zits on YouTube!

  6. He announced the new show back in October. It’s going to be a miniseries type thing.

“Part 1 will take a look at 1994 — including the OJ Simpson trial, the death of Kurt Cobain, the phenomenon that was known as Friends, and the the “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” LGBT rights movement. Part 2 (airing Wednesday, December 16 at at 10/9c) will break down some of the pivotal moments of 1989, such as the social commentary of Spike Lee’s Do The Right Thing, the impact of AIDS on the art community, and House of Style’s influence of bringing high fashion to mainstream. The final installment (airing Wednesday, December 23 at at 10/9c) will focus on 2000, and moments like Jennifer Lopez’s influence on Google’s Image Search, the dot com bubble burst, and Sex and The City’s impact on the TV landscape.”

I saw that. He’s been pushing it on WWHL for some time now. Seems like a total rip off of the nostalgia themed decade shows VHI put out titled I Love The 70’s etc. I do have to say I did like those shows though. I doubt he can pull it off as well, but you never know.

So basically Andy’s new show is a redo of VH1’s old show “I Love The…” only with Bravolebrities. Good for him for appropriating that, I guess.

OT..but same Subject. I watched a few minutes of WWHL with BabyFace Edmonds and Trisha Yearwood. I love them both. I usually am an Andy supporter, not a fan. Last night he was rude in an awkward way and it was uncomfortable to watch him. He was crude and curt. Babyface was not feeling him and Trisha was just pleasant.

I usually record Anderson and Kathy because I end up reading or falling asleep… this year I have ACTUAL PLANS. ME. HATER OF NEW YEARS WHO USUALLY PREFERS TO SPEND IT WITH THE CAT HAS PLANS.

Its a girls night… but still, there will be alcohol.

      I will record both.

      I need to come out.

      I confess.

I love Andy. I usually listen to Radio Andy the most on Sirius. How can I hate him when of all my tv watching – 40 to 50 percent is either created or produced by him?

So, Andy’s repurposed the structure and style of VH1’s I Love the 80s to focus on a single event instead of a specific year. Groundbreaking.

Damn should have read through to the bottom. Just made the same comment further up. I don’t know about you but did like those VH1 shows I just doubt Andy can pull it off as well, but we’ll see I guess.
