I enjoyed Celebrity Apprentice for the most part this season, but I’m ready for the finale because I just have to many things to watch on Monday nights right now. Speaking of scheduling issues, I will be recapping Vanderpump Rules tomorrow instead of tonight. After this show, I’m going to curl up on the coach and listen to the rain (maybe sleet?) and veg out for the night. Atlanta shut the city down due to potential snow. I’m not sure how it was supposed to snow since it’s been around 40 degrees almost all day, but in Atlanta, we don’t have weathermen anymore. We have SEVERE WEATHER TEAMS who scare us to death pretty much every week with tornados, and lightning and ice possibilities, etc. They actually now seriously recommend we all don helmets during tornado season. I’m not kidding! Anyway, I hope those of you with real snow issues are warm and safe! Let’s get on with the show!
Leeza and Geraldo are shown shooting their commercials. Leeza got really lucky with the Jonas kid. He’s running the camera crew like a finely oiled machine. Meanwhile, over on Team Geraldo, Lorenzo and Geraldo are still measuring their dicks.
Before a commercial break they do a teaser about #PhoneGate so maybe we will see some footage tonight!
Okay the just brought out half of the fired cast on one side of the stage, and Kenya is on that side in a white dress with a weird sort of off the left shoulder with a giant sleeve on the arm. I’ll look for a picture. By the way, word on the curb is that Kenya and Vivica had to stay in two different Trump hotels. I imagine that was at Vivica’s request because her TL has continued to be full a snark about Kenya for weeks. #bitter #getoverit
Trump starts by chatting with Terrell Owens. We he is done he told Terrell he did a fantastic job. Kenya, who is off camera said, “Thank You!” Kenya’s lighting is bad, very harsh lighting on stage. Trump asks Kenya if she is a nice girl. She says yes. He says, “So what happened?” She says ” I tried my best because she really wanted to win for herself, for her charity, and for you Mr. Trump. And by the way, you look Ivanka.” Ugh with the brown-nosing, Kenya you are fired and it’s no longer necessary. Kenya looks a bit nervous. Which is out of character for her.
The fundraising is going strong. Both teams have big donors. Ian, who is on Team Geraldo raised 30K despite their differences. Geraldo was touched.
Geraldo goes first in his presentation. I wasn’t wowed by his presentation. It was very Geraldo centric and the kids were… a bit much. I think a real family might have been better. It was kind of cheesy. Tony Orlando comes on and tells a heartwarming story about his severely disabled sister and how Geraldo helped him. When did Tony Orlando get so old? How old is he? Geraldo sang with Tony Orlando. Because, Geraldo. They sang Tie a Yellow Ribbon.
They are teasing #Phonegate at every commercial.
Leeza’s commercial was better focused on a possibly real family of four. Leeza gave an emotional speech about her mother’s battle with Alzheimer and her charity. Olivia Newton John shows up for their entertainment. She sings You Have to Believe (It’s Magic) which was the perfect song. I haven’t seen Olivia in years. She is aging well, and has a much fuller face than I remembered. I was typing but I have a feeling she might have lip synced.
In the boardroom, both sides speak highly of their teams. Both speak highly of their competition and both think they did a better job. Both claim to be confident they have won. The negatives of Geraldo’s presentation were that the parents and the kids had separate experiences (Geraldo took the kids on a tour while the parents went elsewhere). They also thought the presentation was disjointed. What did Tony Orlando’s song have to do with the overall theme of “Be your own hero.”
As for Leeza’s team, they loved Leeza’s cohesive presentation. They loved Olivia Newton John and how her song tied in to the theme. They didn’t think they used enough celebrity in the commercial. They wanted more from Brandi, Kevin, and Johnny in the commercial. Kevin is a Jonas brother and should have been in front of the camera. They didn’t think the strict father theme was strong enough to hold the viewer’s interest. Wow. Interesting.
As for fundraising each team will keep their own money for their charity. The winner will get an additional $250,000. The fundraising was not even close. But they haven’t told us the amounts yet. I can’t stress how much they are teasing #PhoneGate. Wow, Geraldo only raised $146,000. He said he could not ask the same people who already donated. I’m not sure if that is a rule, or if that was just his moral code of ethics. Team Leeza raised $324,000!
After the beginning of the boardroom, we are back to the live show, all the celebs that were already on the stage were moved to the back row. EXCEPT FOR KENYA. They bring everyone out and for a moment it looked like Trump was going to seat Vivica right next to Kenya. But he puts Ian Ziering in between them. Vivica is still close enough for Kenya to poke her with a wand. I’m just saying. I don’t like anyone’s dresses. I’ve tweeted to ask for a photo. Let’s hope they give me one.
Trump asks about the differences between the men and the women. Ian says the women played a more vicious game and the men got along better. It’s time for #PhoneGate. Trump plays a montage of the #PhoneGate drama. Trump says to Kenya, ” Come clean. What happened?” Kenya says, “You know what Mr. Trump. You’re looking for a phone? “She pulls one out!!! …..and says “this is mine.” Kenya laughs and laughs. Trump says, “Did you do it?” Kenya says, “No.” Trump says, “I believe you.” (That makes one of us). Vivica says when Kenya starts talking with her hands, like she just was, that she is lying. Trump speculates on who else it could be? Could it be Brandi? Brandi says that if it wasn’t Kenya then it was her hair and makeup artists because they were the only people allowed in the war room. Brandi is wearing three heads of purchased hair on her head tonight. Way too much weave. In fact, it’s likely a Dolly Parton wig. Kenya says that is not far and we are here for charity and I would just appreciate it if we would just stay positive. She is waving her hands around as she says this and Vivica is mocking her “tell.” The audience is cracking up as Vivica copies her hand gestures.
Time for the final two. Leeza’s blue dress is lovely. Trump polls several of the fired players and they say that Leeza should win.
Now for viewer questions. I meant to send one in but I never got around to it. They only asked three questions. One for Ian, one for Kevin, one for Vivica. Nothing worth reporting.
Next was a tribute to Joan Rivers. Melissa Rivers comes out to a standing ovation. Melissa is already emotional.
Trump asked Kenya who should win and Kenya and Kate and Gilbert said Geraldo. It seems everyone else thinks it’s Leeza. The moment Trump said that Leeza won the final challenge the stupid weather people bleeped and I missed the reaction. Leeza went hard in her speech about her track record of wins over the entire season. Surely, she won.
Leeza is the winner!
