I have a confession to make. I ventured out in the world yesterday and it was tiresome. I haven’t had much recapping mojo lately. So last night I made the very conscious decision to cheat on you. I watched HTGAWM without you. I didn’t recap. I didn’t even make mental notes of clever things to say. I sucked down copious amount of wine, and just watched the show. As retribution for this indiscretion, I’ll do a post that is not the usual recap and just share the thoughts I can remember with you today. Ready?
Connor is a versatile little man whore.
He’s a top! He’s a bottom! And apparently he’s great at tossing a salad! In this episode, Connor um, went to the ATM to uh get to the bottom of this weeks procedural case. Connor knows no bounds when is comes to kissing ass. And Annalise repays him with the murder weapony statue this week.
Meanwhile, Oliver his innocent IT lover ain’t happy. When he finds out that Connor has tongued another, he dumps him. And yet, on the night of the murder, Connor go straight to Oliver. Connor has a full-blown meltdown and confesses to Oliver over and over that he “screwed up.” Clearly, he is talking about a different kind of screwing. But what does it mean? Why does Connor seem to be more freaked out by the murder than all the other little lawyer wannabes? Did Oliver take Connor back since his other lover killed himself right in front of him? Or is this the first time Oliver has seen him since the night his tongue wandered into another man’s nether regions?
Asher has a storyline.
We finally get some answers on why Asher was not in any of the murder scenes. But not really. It seems that Asher and Michaela have some sort of scholarly rivalry over the dam statue cum murder weapon. Asher was outside the office trying to beat the door down to retrieve his statue from Michaela and the ENTIRE GROUP hid from him to keep him from finding them with the body. Why is he not a trusted member of the group? Is it because of his family connections that got him the prestigious law clerk internship? At least we know he was still alive and kicking when the murder went down.
Bonnie is a lesbian who has the hots for Annalise.
While I’ve long suspected something between Bonnie and Annalise we had enough clues dropped this episode to verify that Bonnie is likely a the very least playing for both teams. Maybe Sam and Annalise enjoy sharing their extramarital flings.
Speaking of Sam, Bonnie just happens to witness Nate searching Sam’s car being searched by Nate? Bonnie at this point knows who Nate is. Bonnie somehow uses this observation to determine that Sam is a suspect in Lila’s murder? I’m confused about how she put the information together to get the video of Rebecca’s forced confession away from the prosecution. Why would Nate still be investigating Sam at all, let alone on what appears to be his own time?
Rebecca and Wes
At this point in my evening, the wine was taking over. I was also distracted by some online drama unrelated to this place. It seems clear we have not yet gotten to the moment these two become start crossed lovers and the murder is only 7 weeks away. I missed what the code was for Lila’s phone. Did anyone get that? I thought it might be important. Wes took a backseat this week.
Viola Davis needs a statue.
The scene with all of the hair and makeup removal was mesmerizing. She should get an Emmy for it. And she found the damning evidence against Sam. A dic pic. The last nine words we were all waiting for? “Why is your penis on a dead girl’s phone?” Oh I can hardly wait for this answer.
Okay. Let’s talk.
