By now it’s clear to pretty much everyone that these reality shows are not based in reality. But we watch anyway because sometimes, people get very comfortable on camera and begin to reveal their true selves. Often when that happens, they start to blame production and scream that they were edited to look foolish. The thing is though, production can only edit what you give them. They can put words in your mouth using frankenbites, but those are pretty easy to notice because they don’t show your lips moving when you “say” those things.
So, Mama Joyce, if you make your daughter cry by constantly insulting her fiancé and her engagement ring and her home décor, you can’t really cry wolf later and blame it on editing. You chose to speak those words on camera. You chose to go all ham in the bridal shop and threaten to clobber someone upside their head with a shoe. You scared a small child with your mere presence and went to your daughter’s best friend’s office to film a scene talking about your short big-headed child and how she should not many that short big-headed man. You never filmed a scene all season where you showed any sort of class, or the slightest bit of consideration for your daughter.
So now you want to rewrite a bit of history Mama Joyce? Really?
Y’all will never believe the “bad editing” that Mama Joyce wants to complain about. She is OUTRAGED that Bravo has made her look bad. OUTRAGED! Is it about making Kandi cry? Nope. Going ghetto on Carmon in the bridal store? Uh-uh. Disrespecting Todd in is own house? No mam. Perhaps it is the scene with Phaedra? No mam!
Mama Joyce it seems needed a bit of pocket change. Perhaps she and Kandi are still not speaking. So according to Radar Online she gave them an exclusive interview to complain about her bad editing. This is what she allegedly told them:
“That upset me so bad. When they showed the scene of me walking into the house and seeing all the pictures of Todd on the wall I was not talking about his pictures! I know Kandi had a decorator, her friend Carmon – and she put up all those pictures of Todd when he was a little boy,” she recalled.
“I said, ‘Now that’s a damn shame,’ and what I really said was that shouldn’t be all him up there (on the wall). That shouldn’t be his wall. I said there were no picture of Riley or me. I didn’t just say there should be a picture of me. I said the pictures of Riley should be much higher and the pictures of Kandi’s daughter should be up there, not just pictures of Todd. But they didn’t show that. They only showed me saying it shouldn’t be just him.”
Baffled at producers’ decision to edit her scenes, Mama Joyce bemoaned, “I don’t know why they did that. I allowed it to be like that, I guess. I guess since they don’t pay me, they can do whatever they want.” The only thing that could have changed the scenario, Mama Joyce said (was) a contract.“I would never have agreed to it,” she lamented. “I am very upset about what they did and I don’t know if I’ll be back on the show.”
So there you have it. Mama Joyce wanted you to know it wasn’t just that there were not enough pictures of her. She wanted more pictures of Riley too. Okay, Mama Joyce. Point noted. That changes EVERYTHING. I can see how that might just make you never seek out another Bravo camera.
Oh my Lawd. Poor Kandi.
