I’m 20 minutes in and wanting to change the channel. Mostly because it is waaaaaayyyy too early for Bethenny’s voice. I got little sleep and am low on caffeine. Bethenny talks fast anyway, and add in nerves on top of that and it’s… a bit much.
Her little monologue was mostly about her excitement about her new show. I can’t decide if I love or hate her dress. I think I love it. Though it is a bit too tight on her despite her being a tiny little thing. She looks very pretty, but almost like a doll rather than a human person.
Her first segment, and I am not sure if this is a permanent plan or not is ask the men. Love the theory, hate the practical application. It was Boris Kudjoe and two comedians. You can’t have comedians on a panel like this. It becomes a joke-off and not a real segment. The white guy must have pointed out 6 times his wife is black. That alone was annoying.
Next Bethenny went into the audience to play “Would you ever?” again great concept. Bethenny used to go into the audience to play games with Ellen and this is her strong suit. She has a great rapport with her audience. One of her fans started crying because she got to meet her. Things were going so well, and then her friendship with Bravo Andy showed and a Kraft Zesty Guy appears for a promotional op. Bethenny tosses his salad (in the daytime, live commercial children can watch sense of the term.)
Nick Canon came on and they twerked. SMH. The Flo Rida came out and sang and she twerked some more.
Here is the problem. Shortly after the show began, Fox began frantically letting everyone know that Dr. Oz is on at 2 pm now. You could just hear the hypochondriacs freaking out that he was not on to tell them what rare disease might kill them today if they don’t find the proper organic green coffee beans from Jakarta, ASAP. I no longer allow myself to watch Dr. Oz and have a case of Gogi juice I’d like to unload if anyone is interested. Here is the bigger problem. She is also on against The View. Today was Jenny McCartney’s first day.
Overall, I think she has a shot. Especially since she is well-financed and Ellen and Andy Cohen will help send her some big names. Did you watch?
