Oooops Sorry I am late with the post. I am working on a BIG story today. 
Should draw lots of attention to the blog. Meanwhile, I am counting on you guys to help with recapping today’s testimony. It seems the feed is late to show up today. Please keep me up to date today as I have some errands to run regarding the story.
I am losing hope that we will see Jodi go berserk and the stun belt will be used.
So Nurmi says that his client has not received lunch for the past two days. How could he not know this? I would think after missing lunch the first day, he would’ve known and would’ve made an issue of it. I think recessing for the day was a stunt by the defense team to interrupt Martinez’s cross of her just when it was getting good – stopping the momentum. The migraine was BS. I hope Martinez comes right back at her today taking up where he left off.
However…Martinez is “abusing” her with his aggressive style and she is PROVING she is not the cowering helpless “victim”–matching him thrust and parry. She would also never take any crap from Travis! (I don’t believe he gave any.) She is too clever for her own good and not half clever enough! (Murder 101-SHUT * UP, don’t: journal, take photos, use credit cards, rent cars…..) This is my 1st time posting–just saying–to frustrate whoeveritwas who hates it! I’m older and I have more insurance!

I didn’t hang out on twitter today but did watch most of the trial. I still maintain that I am worried that Martinez is going to blow this case big time. I thought I would literally pee my pants when Jodi told him his questioning was unfocused and wondering all over the place. If I had been on the jury, I would have been dismissed because I would have been very inappropriate and laughed myself silly.
And don’t get me wrong, I don’t think there is a damn thing funny about a person being murdered in such a heinous fashion and just left like a dog on the side of the road to rot. But Martinez is acting like an ass trying to trip Jodi up and she is having the time of her life playing with him. He needs to stop letting her bait him and just hit the big ticket items and keep this thing moving. His pure vitriol for her comes through and I have to believe that at least one juror is being entertained by their battle of the wits. This is the State of Arizona vs Jodi Arias and Martinez is behaving as if it is Martinez vs Jodi Arias, he is trying to wind every little battle of the wills and by my personal tally I think he is behind and if this keeps up he is going to lose the trial.
Yes he is proving Jodi is a liar but we all know that from Jodi herself and her many different versions of the truth. I don’t see him hitting hard on premeditation and murder and I think there is sure to be someone who takes their task seriously…..meaning did he prove beyond a reasonable doubt that it was first degree murder. All he is proving is that she is a smart ass manipulator and little liar and that his ego is taking a beating.
It the trial keeps up at this pace, I predict Jodi and Casey Anthony partnering up to share rent together and laugh about how they beat the system when it was clear they did indeed do the dastardly deed.
You’ve clearly stated how this case could collapse. Martinez has been sucked into her spin.
So the married woman that Jodi Arias testified about today claiming she and Travis had exchanged inappropriate emails WHEN SHE WAS SNOOPING THROUGH HIS EMAILS was on Jane the Lez just now and said it was all total bullshit. She and Travis were friends, he was a big flirt with everyone including her mother, but there was no sexual emails and Jodi is lying under oath. I wonder if Martinez will call her in now?
Jodi said they were not sexual emails. But flirty joking emails that she found to be inappropriate for a married woman. And Martinez reiterated that the emails exchanged were nothing more than friendly joking emails. So I doubt he’d bring her to the stand. We could always hope. I’m still keeping my fingers crossed that she has a crazy f’ing break down on the stand and unleashes the crazy we all know is sitting just below her surface.
Okay this is weird. They are back but Jodi is no longer on the witness stand. The jury is coming back in. Oh wow they are recessing for the day and coming in 15 minutes early in the morning.
The defense attorney is saying that jodi has not been receiving lunch during the trial. She is having migraines. The defense is asking that the trial not go past 4:30 pm for the sake of her health migraines. The judge said that the sheriff’s office has agreed to start bringing her lunches. It seems odd that she has not been fed for all of these weeks. This is very strange.
i think nurmi is just anglin’ for seconds. lunch wise.

I swear this is the SLOWEST group of people ever. I feel bad for the jury. I mean its irritating to us as viewers I can only imagine how crappy this is if you’re actually having to deal with it
And now they’re in recess! I’d be protesting if I were a juror and begging for both sides to get it together and GET THIS THING OVER!!
Court actually resumed on time but the defense called for a sidebar. In the middle of the sidebar, Nurmi went to confer with Jodi and is now back up at the Judge’s bench. Meanwhile Jodi’s mom and her twin sister are giggling like school children.
Now there is a 10 minute break but we have no idea why. The judge left the bench.
I KNEW STARTING BACK ON TIME WAS TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE!
Jodi says that when he jizzes on her face and throws candy at her then she feels like a prostitute but when they are having sex with the KY she did not. He questions her and she admits essentially that she agreed to the whole face jizzing scene. It must be hard for people not to giggle at this testimony sometimes.
Now he has given her some text messages talking about ejaculating on her face. When he asks to admit them into evidence the defense looks at them and asks for a sidebar. I don’t get why the defense is not away of the prosecutors evidence ahead of time and has to ask for sidebars as if it were brand new evidence.
The judge allowed the text to be admitted. The text message is from Jodi asking for a BJ and specifically asking him to ejaculate on her face.
Lord! LOL! I sure hope there’s no conservative shy old maid aunt types on this jury – whewy!
Martinez is replaying the part of the phone sex where Jodi introduces Travis to KY. He is pointing out that the sex was consensual and even at her encouragement and that she lied on the stand when she said she felt like a prostitute and a used piece of toilet paper.
Jodi is still trying to spilt hairs. I said I would go to the funeral not the memorial service.
martinez is going over her comments at the memorial in the memorial book that say Travis is beautiful on the inside despite the fact that she says he masturbates to pictures of little boys. He is doing much better now. He is having the court reporter read back questions rather than reposing them several times.
It looks like we have another sister of Travis in the courtroom today. She has light hair and looks just like the darkest haired sister in the face.
Martinez is now showing both 48hrs excerpts and texts that show that Jodi was very complimentary in her texts and described Travis as her rock, and an inspiration and thanks him for all of the wonderful things he has done for her. Martinez points out this is in direct opposition to what she has been testifying to in court.
she quibbled herself into some shite when she intently, purposefully made the distinction between “the truth” and her memory, as it relates to her testimony on the stand. i hope the jury marked that one down.

I’m not familiar with that one. Although if I knew the particulars I might remember it. I generally don’t blog trials here unless they are related to entertainment but I am so engrossed in this one….I just had to.

That case is going to be brutal to watch. I can not imagine the pain it will bring for her family members who truly loved her. Shaniya Davis was a precious and innocent child who deserved none of what happened to her.
If I recall correctly, they will be trying her mother as well as the man accused of killing her. Is that right? If so, I wonder if they will be tried together or separately.
ew. I googled it. I can’t watch any more child murder cases. I don’t have the stomach for it. In fact I wish I had not googled at all. /shivers
thanks for the heads up…I don’t do child murder or molestation trials either…don’t read, watch or listen to any of it.
I’m with both of you on that, TT & cherrylipgloss. Because of things that happened in my past, I can’t bear hearing or reading anything about child molestation cases, children being abused in any way whatsoever, children being killed, etc. It gets to me on a horrible level that I can’t explain.
My concern is that as trial watchers, we know every little detail, hear the experts response to the testimony and in general have WAY more information than the jury does. I think we are sort of clouded by that and it makes it hard to put yourself into the head of Susie Homemaker who doesn’t watch the news, has no clue about the case and whose mind is drifting off to whether or not someone had gotten her kid to soccer practice….
good point – we do get to read/hear a lot more information about Jodi than the jury does…but I still can’t imagine a juror looking at those crime scene pictures and thinking “whoa” she did this to him???
Do you really believe that none of the jurors watch TV when they go home? I believe they do. But when it’s all said and done, I think that jury’s almost always get it right, even when I disagree with the verdict. They listen to the testimony, apply the law that is given to them in jury instructions, and do their best to weigh the evidence, apply the law and come up with a just verdict. I love our judicial system and believe it works 99% of the time!
I think Martinez did a good job this morning when he started showing her stalking tendancies ie: Hacking into Bobby Juarez’ e-mails at the tender age of 17, Driving 90 minutes to confront Bianca (Matt McCartny’s new gf) without his knowledge, Sneeking into Travis’ text messages, e-mails and peeking through his windows. I believe she always does this when she gets the feeling her guy is trying to flea from her. After that, Mr Martinez just kept getting off track and allowed Jodi to mostly control the questioning. She’s irritating but very adept at this. No wonder Travis was banging his head against the linen closet door.

Mr Martinez is out of control. He is coming off as a deviant himself. None of this sex based testimony is relevant to the murder. This cross examination is way too personal. He’s losing track of the big picture. God forbid her ” eye contact” tactic is bending some fool juror.
Pretty much all of the commentary on IN SESSION right now is negative toward Martinez’s performance today. Let’s hope this doesn’t end badly. sigh. I can’t take another dead wrong verdict!!!

But if you were on jury and even if you 1) kinda disliked Martinez or 2) thought he was too augumentative or 3) was too agressive with Jodi, would that sway your decision that Jodi was “Not responsible” for this really heinous crime?? if a juror is hopefully astute enough to now see that Jodi’s lies are entirely for self-preservation not because she is a “battered woman” or feels “ashamed” or doesn’t want to slander Travis’s name – that is biggest bunch of BS, she is a narcissist psycopath
Martinez needs to bring his voice down a least 2 octives. The jury knows he does not like Arias, and he is starting to whine. She knows exactly what she is doing, and she is manipulating Martinez. She manipulated every man in her life I’m sure.
i lost my original post. in a nutshell, this prosecutor is out of control. yesterday the points he made were lost in the constant arguing. now, today they arent even sparring about the acutal evidence, but about each other !
Jodi is nuts and scary, but she is extremely smart and i think the prosecutor will snap before she does.

wow – actually, Jodi is not THAT smart…but she has practiced her story, timeline, past alleged boyfriend abuse with her attorneys. Martinez bounces around on purpose, keeps at her on purpose. He is very aggressive but I believe there is method to his madness as they say – he’s too experienced a prosecutor to not know how his questions are affecting her – she will crack before he does…..
Very interesting perspective, Eve! Yes, he’s dang frustrated and indeed, kind of losin’ it. My feeling is because Jodi rarely answers a direct question and the prosecutor is all about precision, clipped, direct responses. She is not giving that to him and he refuses to back down. This is, in my opinion, important, as the jury now sees her purposefully dancing around the questions to muddy up, confuse, obfuscate. In other words, in my opinion, he feels compelled to focus on how she answers questions and to point out that she is basically purposefully being obscure.

It is, isn’t it?!?! I love you’re blog and wish I would have known about you during the Casey Anthony trial. Unfortunately, I didn’t so my poor husband was subjected to hearing every last freaking detail. But he managed to listen and at least pretend to be half way interested for my sake!!
His first question was “you were 17 years old when you moved out of your parents house to live with Bobby juarez. “I guess her boyfriend at the time. He’s rehashing past boyfriends and her tendencies to go behind their backs and look through their things. He’s establishing her tendencies to stalk and then confront her “cheating” boyfriends. Then she whined about not understanding Martinez because he talks in circles and is angrily asking questions. She can’t remember certain things because Martinez is upsetting her and rattling her brain. Blah blah blah
I would love to slap her!! She is smug and snarky and so is her damn lawyer!!!

The prosecutor has asked her no less than five times “what are we talking about” in response to her indirect, beat-around-the-bush answers to his questions. She is trying to keep things confused, to throw the prosecutor off his line of questioning. This cross-examination could take days at this pace.
