RHOMlisaVery few things on the Internet surprise me anymore, but today’s Real House of Miami news has left me a bit dumbfounded. When Stoopid Housewives was sued by a media group for copyright infringement, I sort of got it. The more I read about that case, the more it seemed that the plaintiffs were being a bit vindictive. SH took the pictures down when they asked her too. What is really the point of dragging her into the court system and ripping away her anonymity? Sure the have legal standing, but really? It seems like overkill to me. We all dislike it when our content gets stolen but is it really necessary to drag small time bloggers into court over a few pictures at a party?

Then today, Lisa Hochstein decides to sue a COMMENTER on WetPaint about negative comment about her? Oh Lisa.  According to TMZ, “Hochstein recently filed a lawsuit against a woman named Jessica Lederman –  claiming she suffered “severe emotional distress” after Jessica blasted her in  the comment section of an entertainment news website. According to docs,  Jessica wrote “Lisa was an escort who also did soft porn in Vegas” … in  response to an article about Lisa joining the “Real Housewives” franchise.. But Hochstein says it’s a bold-faced lie and that she’s never been  in the escort business or done soft core porn in Las Vegas. Hochstein  claims Jessica’s remark damaged her reputation and threatened both her  employment and social life.”

RHOMLiasThat last part has me mystified. Joanna Krupa has had similar allegations out there in the press and her employment and social life seem to be moving along just fine. Is it possible that the commenter was just confused about who she was talking about? At the time  (April) no one even knew who Lisa Hochstein was. Perhaps the commenter saw Joanna’s tickle fetish video and got confused. That is now a reason to litigate? Lisa has piles of money and a great life. She can’t ignore the comments on some medium-sized blog? Is she really so self-obsessed that she reads all the comments? I laugh at the people who comment here as if they are talking to Kim, or Nene or whomever because I don’t for a minute think they wade through all the comments here.  The posts, MAYBE but the comments?

If indeed Lisa was upset by the comment, wouldn’t a law suit just draw WAY MORE ATTENTION to the comment? Things like this make me wonder if I am actually the sane one and everyone else is crazy. Lisa ended her season on RHOM on the upswing. She became more  and more likeable as the season we went on. She ended in a good place. She came off fine at the reunion. Now she wants to sue a fan? Because in the long run, even the haters are fans. Haters read more blogs and watch more shows about people they hate than supporters. I’d say that it is likely that once Jessica  saw the show she, like me, came to change her opinion of Lisa. Lisa ended the season looking like a sweet young woman who desperately wants a child with a husband that she loves. This move is a HUGE PR fail.

Leave me a comment if you dare…:(
