So word has leaked out today that Toya Wright and her husband Memphitz have been filming a reality show called Mickey and Toya: The Wright Way. The show will focus on the two opening a new business of some sort and being newlyweds. The show has not sold yet but it’s being shopped to several cable networks. Toya has already done a couple of reality shows on BET and one assumes that network will be the one she pitches the hardest to pick up the show.

Remember when Kandi was tweeting pictures about being in the Bahamas with Phaedra and their men and Toya and Memphitz during the Christmas holidays? I was a bit obsessed with everyone’s hair because it looked to me like they had a stylist with them on the trip. I said then that if I was just on vacation, I would just let my hair go natural. It’s a pain in the butt to straighten your hair at the beach. However, if I were filming, I could see having my hair done. Also the ladies were in full-face makeup in the picture. I also found that odd. If you can’t lighten up on your beauty regime at the beach, then what kind of vacation is that? Y’all didn’t all agree with me on that issue but it stuck out as weird to me.
Flash forward to today. I am now more convinced than ever there was filming going on. Perhaps, if the show does get picked up we will be seeing Kandi and Phaedra on the new show? I suppose time will tell. Would Bravo’s contracts with Kandi and Phaedra allow them to appear on BET? Probably. Nene and others have done some cameos on BET shows. So I guess we will have to remember to tune in! Thoughts?
I think filiming while on vacation is a stretch…I mean how would the producers of whatever network picked up the show spin it for a storyline? Anyway, why don’t she and hubby get real jobs? That alimony has now disappeared since she’s remarried, lol. And I’m a Toya fan. Just find something else to do boo.
Her husband had a job. I don’t know if he’s still working at a label or not. The show will be picked up and it might even end up on vh1. I think this show going to deal with her husband being a “nice” guy and not a batterer. I’m sure Mona is somewhere circling above them like a buzzard waiting…lol I’m sure she’ll try to get her hand in it some way. K. Michelle is probably somewhere on stage threatening to beat a bitch down…and then crying about being a victim. I’m sure ill watch. I watch the sisterhood, I do draw the line at best funeral ever. That’s some buffoonery right there! Lol
Ain’t nobody checking for this irrelevant trick. I’m still not over her “man” trying to bring all that ratchet foolishness to TV…and word is Oxygen has picked it up? Who would be content with calling themselves a mistress?
Speaking of oxygen I hope they don’t bow under pressure and can that Shawty Lo “all my babies mamas” show. That’s some shit I NEED to see. If we can comfortable watch Kody Brown on sister wives we should be able to watch Shawty Lo dammit.

I hope they do. That show is will be nothing but pure ratchetry. Don’t we get enough of black people looking stupid on vh1? why not have a positive show about Shawty Lo trying to pursue his career and be a family man? IDGI.
I still have people tweeting me petitions to get that Shawty Lo show dropped. I don’t see the point, people will either watch it or they won’t….
As for Memphitz, I’ve heard some of the K Michelle stuff on twitter but I don’t really pay them much attn. Toya tried really hard to get on RHOA if you believe the rumors but for whatever reason was not selected.
Bravo prefers a lovable, quirky family members. I think they take all that into consideration when selecting these women. Toya’s family isn’t really the epitome of quirky lovable realness. So yeah…she’s got way more of a urban market.
I think they didnt pick her because she is so close with kandi and Phaedra. They need new people who don’t come in with alliances to make it more interesting. The same goes for Q Parker’s wife, who is now on Big Rich Atlanta. She knew too many of the girls ( tho I don’t believe she is close with any of them but she is in their social circle).
I could see Phaedra and Kandi leaving to this show, but I don’t think Bravo would allow them to do both, while on RHOA. This group is who Phaedra and Kandi hang with. It would probably be more about family and the music industry.
Weird I hear today Memphitz drops his lawsuit against LAHH, and now were pitching a reality show. HMMMMM!

I’m sorry but I simply cannot take a grown man serious with the name M-i-c-k-e-y ! I know we are trying to be nice this year Tamara, but I do NOT care for no-neck Toya! I will not be checking for this garbage!
Great work, Tamara!! It makes sense for them to pitch a show to try and salvage Memphitz’s image. Problem is they are both boring as hell and between Toya and Keisha Cole, we’ve seen enough of the “I came into some money so I’m going to save my crackhead mom and ratchet family” storyline!! That’s probably why Bravo wanted no part of it!! It would make sense for them to shoot the vacation w/Kandi, Rasheeda, and Phaedra to entice networks with already established reality stars. It also helps explain why Rasheeda was so involved with the K. Michelle situation.
Now that I think of it, that may be why Phaedra confirmed the pregnancy at that time because someone on that film crew could have leaked the info before she could. Things that make you go hmmmm….
They’ve been married for 2 years so they’re not newlyweds…and I’m sorry if BET cancelled her previous show, why do we need to see more of them. I don’t find either one of them remotely interesting…
Kandi has confirmed that she is engaged to Todd. It appears they got engaged on this trip.
