In the latest issue of the tabloid to the housewives, In Touch, Nene Leakes has acknowledged that she is in fact a grandmother. Nene’s son Bryson has been rumored to have knocked-up more than one young lady in the last three years or so. Gossip websites seem to report that Nene is soon to be a grandmother at least once a year. But this is the first actual child that Nene has acknowledged. One assumes she had a DNA test run. Anyway, it’s a girl and her name is Bri’Asia. This is not teen pregnancy we are talking about here. Bryson is 22 and baby mama Ashley is 21. Here’s what Nene had to say to In Touch:
I only found out about everything because I ran into Ashley when she was more than six months along. I said, ‘You look pregnant.’ and she said, ‘Hasn’t Bryson told you?’ But he hadn’t because he knew that I wouldn’t approve of him having a child so young. I didn’t feel like he was ready for such a big responsibility. I was his age when I had him, so I know how tough it is. I didn’t want him to make the same mistakes that I did. I needed to let it sink in. I always wanted to have a girl and now I have one! She’s just adorable. I paid for everything in the nursery… the clothing, the diapers,little dresses, sparkly headbands, and Gucci shoes. I don’t want her to feel strapped. We just love her!
The little bundle of Joy was born in mid June according to Nene. Which means Daddy was in jail within two weeks of her birth. But she has Gucci shoes and really, what more does a little girl need?

What a cute baby! I am glad Nene is being supportive and helping out financially. I am sure Ashley appreciates the help. I hope she continues to be active in her granddaughters life.
Why are we such haters! Black women will not stick together for anything. Nene can’t win for losing she said that bcuz she know how it was to be a young parent an her son isn’t the most responsible person there is so it’s good she know’s she mite have to take up the slack for a while good job gurl keep up the good work some ppl cant understnd when kids have good grandparents…
Her son was in jail within days of the baby being born. Is that what you mean by not the most responsible person? Could it be because he doesn’t have to work to support himself at age 22? What are you basing the conclusion on that she is going to be a good grandparent to this particular grandchild?

She is starting off good! At least the baby is dressed well and looks so cute! Obviously, Nene likes buying her clothes and stuff. My mother does the same thing. I figure the more grandmother buys the less I have to buy!
I have never seen a new born baby or any baby for that matter held like this in a photo, or held like this.
Why is it necessary for Nene to discuss buying things for the baby,? Why can’t she just do it and feel good knowing she has done it without public knowing.
& what’s classic is that they have the same hairstyle. I see nothing wrong w/her saying she paid 4 the stuff. We know it’s true-who else would? Aye, The Insider said she IS worth 4.5 million$. So, she new money – not old doe, she isn’t first season… remember she THEN even admitted to those who had more funds then she had first episode “athletes, they are very wealthy…knocked me out the park” or so… Must feel good not to worry so much on $.

For some people Nene will never be able to do anything right. Yes she does brag all the time, but I think this time it was taken out of context. She was saying that she was upset because her son had not mentioned the pregnancy to her and that he was not ready to be a parent at his age and she did not want the mother to struggle the way she had as a single mother and was trying to express how she has had a complete change of heart about the situation and plans to be involved and do everything she can. I am sure this photo shoot was like any other photo shoot. Either the photographer or a photo shoot director instruct on many poses take many photos and the editor selects the final one for print. I am sure there were photos taken of her cradling or cuddling the baby and this is the one they chose bad choice by editor not her fault. Just like she has no control how they overuse the airbrush. As rich and A list as she likes to claim/pretend she is she does not have the power to control what goes to print…Celebs complain of this all the time. Cute baby, ghetto name I could only imagine the mother…After all she did get knocked up by Bryson…but still better than Kash Kade…How nauseating is this season going to be with she and Kim fighting to get their babies the most air time.
Nene is holding that baby like a pro! She knows she won’t break. I don’t think Nene and Kim will be fighting over babies. Kim’s storyline showcases her children and they don’t mind the cameras. Brice seems to get the most airtime, but he is older. It has always been that way!

As a Nene stan–I can say that I’ll bet she mentioned her financial contribution because she wants everyone to know that she is an active grandparent and that even though her son Bryson is irresponsible in his own life and cannot care for his daughter, financially, that she stepped up as Bri’Asia’s grandma and bought the nursery accouterment! Maybe all the grandmothers I know are horrible people because they always talk about the gifts they shower on their grand babies. Hell… maybe ya’ll just don’t know any GOOD grandmothers. It’s an epidemic, really. God bless her and her new baby girl!
