I really dislike the format Bravo uses for its video sharing so I usually avoid embedding them and really don’t even like watching them. However, this morning two readers shared that on this video, which is one of those jerky hand-held behind the scenes videos that Andy did during the taping of the RHOA reunion, has an interesting comment. First, let’s recall that every opportunity that Nene has been presented has come from a gay man. First and foremost, Bravo Andy, the gay man that is holding the camera for this video. Then there is Chris Colfer who suggested to Ryan Murphy that Nene would be a good choice to play Roz Washington on Glee. Gay men have been very, very good to Nene Leakes. So please tell me that she is not stupid enough to be saying what she it sounds like she is saying at the 46 second mark of this video. I’m going to need some of you Nene fans to explain this one.

Of all the suggestions, I wanna side with the person who said "Gate Keeper(s)". It's sounds more like that than "Glam People" or "Gay People", at least with headphones on. Don't understand why she'd say "Gate Keepers" though…Plus I think that was Derek J laughing in the background after the comment was made. He was hanging around NeNe at the time of the incident.
NeNe has to go, I dont know who this lady thinks she is but she needs to check herself. I have to agree she said Im so sick of the gay people, she has no class and is very ignorant. I have never been a fan of NeNe but season 1 was my fav for her, now she thinks she is better than everyone. I wish that Kandi would have put NeNe in her place better than she did by throwing out the fact that she was a stripper more LOL! I guess I wanted her to push her buttons more and really put an emphases on the fact she thinks she is better but she was in the sex industry herself but Kandi went there but I wanted more LOL. NeNe needs to go … far away too!
But I'm getting a lot better at tuning out her BIG FAT MOUTH when other people are trying to speak.
NeNe is showing her low class upbringing along with being a bigot. As for NeNe being liked just like Bethenny from RHNYC, please remember that Jill Zarin was the beloved one of that group too and look where she is now – fired. NeNe can't stand the fact that Kim, Kandi, Bethenny, all have gotten a separate show from the Real Housewives franchise. I say, take her 15 minutes and go. She won't last – she couldn't make it on Celebrity Apprentice as she was to scared of Star Jones she QUIT. She won't make it in Hollywood either once they find out she is prejudiced towards the gay community. She has no class; she is basically and ignorant street hustler. One step above trailer park trash. But still she is trash. Plain and simple. Come on Andy – say it – NeNe YOU'RE FIRED!
Watching the reunion again and Nene seriously needs to do something about those teeth — they're starting to take on a life of their own. At one point I thought they were going to jump out of her head and attach themselves to someone's neck. It's very disconcerting. JMO.
I THINK SHE SAID IT AS A JOKE. SHE LOVES GAY PEOPLE AND HAS MADE IT KNOWN THAT SHE HAS. SAY WHAT YOU WANT TO SAY ABOUT NENE BUT BABY GIRL IS NOT A FOOL. I HAVE WATCHED THE HOUSEWIVES OF ATLANTA FRON DAY ONE AND ALL THE REST OF THE CAST HAS DONE WAS TRY TO BELITTLE HER AND MAKE HER SEEM BENEATH THEM. SHE IS ALWAYS IN DEFENSE MODE WITH THEM AND I CANT BALME HER. OUT OF ALL OF THEM I THINK SHE'S THE ONE THAT HAS USED HER HEAD AND GOTTEN AHEAD.
I miss the season 1 Nene… It seems as the seasons progressed that NeNe has became so defensive. I hate to judge her, because Kim really did throw Nene under the bus. She wanted to record Tardy for the Party with Nene, but when Kandi made the song sound good she decided to dump Nene. That is not very loyal.Plus the other women such as Sheree, Phaedra, and Kim all gossiped about Nene and Charles Grant having an affair even though both Nene and Charles denied it. Nene has good reason to dislike some of her cast members. They have said untrue things about her, and attacked her. So While I do think Nene has CHANGED and she does seem like she doesn't want to be around any of the other women, and we don't get to see the "fun" side of her anymore… I understand why. The women haven't exactly treated Nene with respect.
I listened to this three times and it is pretty damn clear to me that Nene said it. She said it in a derogatory tone also. She is done with housewives and she is going to say whatever she feels like and the whole franchise is made up of GAYS and she hates it. She is really a sick bitch and her 15 minutes is just about up. I liked her in the beginning but she has turned into a monster.Plus, I love this blog – you should get syndicated girlfriend – you got it going on!!!!Love you and keep up the great work – I just moved from Decatur, but wish I was back there just so you and I could meet for tea and conversation….

The bottom line is that NeNe has no class. It goes way beyond whether or not she made the comment about being tired of the gays (in jest or seriously).She's just "uncouth" as my mama would say!
This blog is full of all sorts of peoplle with a variety of opinions about Nene. Yet, I've never seen anyone begrudge her sucess in taking advantage of the RHOA platform. The problem I have with Nene is the fact she constantly bites the hand that feeds her, insults her cast mates and displays rude and inappropriate behavior consistently. But that's just me.
I'm always surprised by the amount of heat any one person on the RH franchise receives. While some of us may not participate in some of their behaviour, given the opportunity I don't really believe that most of these same people wouldn't take advantage of such an opportunity – or worse – change their viewpoints. Money has a habit of changing most people…just saying.
We have to remember that Nene is inarticulate and ignorant. If she is annoyed or irritated by something she does not know how to handle the situation in a dignified manner, hence the eyes rolls, the twisted facial expressions, inappropriate comments, vulgar and profane language. She cannot even express herself on the reunion show without using profanity when challenge on an unpleasant topic. That is why even though she is divorced from Greg they are very much still a couple. NO heterosexual male will tolerate her for more than a minute at a time. Now I will say that I love they way she has used the housewives platform for her acting career but she will short lived and eventually forgot. I.e. Paris Hilton. Remember when she was the It girl. Plus some in Hollyweird will not forget/forgive her behavior in Celebrity Apprentice when she merciless went at Star Jones and Latoya Jackson. Nene if you read Tamara Tattles just a caution to you, if you go after any of those Hollyweird bigwigs like you did Dwight, “The Hollywood Gay Mafia” they will destroy your career. When they are done with you there will be nothing left. Best wishes and get some anger management before you have a heart attack like Tami Roman

I heard her say it loud and clear. This is my problem with Andy. He gave Teresa HELL about her husbands gay comments. He is standing right there and he heard what Nene said and he did nothing. He did not call her out on her comment. Nene has said she is sick of the twitter people and now she is sick of the gay people. In other words she is sick of her fans. Her fans need to get sick of her.
I agree with you Elle. However despite what the Nene fans say here, I don't begrudge Nene getting whatever she can to further her career. I have no problems with whatever small publicity this blog will bring anyone. I will still be here pointing out the pros and cons of all the RHOA. I'm actually going to miss Sheree because she was an endless source of writing material and she will probably fade away now.
Also, I'm still on the Bethenny Franklin bandwagon to a degree. Despite all the press about how fake the show is, I'm still able to believe the show when I watch. Perhaps because I don' delve into that show as a blogger, I'm able to suspend disbelief and just watch it. 
So I have been thinking about a comment to make on this. I have watched Atlanta from the beginning and all anyone truly talks about is NeNe. Now I watched New York (RHONY)from the beginning also and all anyone talked about was Bethany. I say that to let you all in on something. The more you talk about them and give them press either in blogs or newspapers you are talking about them. Meaning that you will either watch the second half of the reunion to see if Andy says something or you will search anywhere and everywhere to see if someone has made a comment about this little snipit. People might even tune into Glee, the next season because this one has already wrapped, to see if NeNe keeps her job on that show. And let me tell you she needs to because Glee, which I have been watching from the beginning, was getting a little boring. But she does a good job on the show and she did give it, no matter how small, a little boost in ratings by being on there. This is fueling the fire of her getting more jobs. No offense but Bethany kept up, no matter how little; either personal or public, mess on New York and look where she is today. A successful business woman who just sold a portion of her business for a good sum of money. Mess begets a good paying job and other opportunities if you are willing to either keep that character going or if you are willing to show another side of your personality. Also remember any press, either negative or positive, is good press especially if it keeps your name out there. Also I don't think this was said in malice. No matter what you say about her she is ambitious enough to know what side her bread is buttered on
I do believe that if the comment was made out of malice that Andy will address it he always does especially comments about the gay community. Also the context in which she said it is needed it could have been a joke. I am not defending NENE just not jumping to conclusions.
For heaven sakes stop making damn excuses for NENE. she is a hog who let the fame go to her head.

I'm usually very skeptical about these things but gosh darn it I really think she said it. Now, what context she said it in is not clear as we are not privy to the conversations, situations going on in the room and to whom she may have been talking to. It could be that she was joking. What does seem clear is that Andy heard the comment and didn't say anything to her.
As my Mom used to say, she really has her ass up on her shoulders. Nene needs to be gone, as it's so OBVIOUS in her demeanor, facial expressions and WORDS – that she doesn't want to be there.

Tamara, did you notice that Derek J is behind NeNe and not Kim? Are Derek J and Kim even friends anymore? All season, we rarely saw Derek J with Kim, but he was all ki ki with NeNe.
She said "I'm sick of the gay people" and she said it very clearly. Andy very obviously heard it, looked clearly startled, and then gave Leakes a very hard side-eye. She had to have known he heard that – he was three feet away. "Dear Mr. Cohen ~ Ms. Leakes has let it be known in every way possible that she HATES BEING ON THE SHOW, up to and including insulting her boss's (YOURS) sexual preference. "Please do us all a favor, and put her AND us out of our misery and FIRE HER ASS."
It sounds like NeNe said she's sick of the gay people, but I really don't think she said the words "gay people". I'm trying to figure out what else sounds like the phrase "gay people" but there's too much background noise to decipher. Besides, if she really did say she was "sick of the gay people," then I think one of the known gays that was there (Andy, Lawrence, Derek J) would have said something about it.
