Since the release of the ebook Lies of a Real Housewife: Tell the Truth and Shame the Devil I thought I would do a little follow up on how the book is being received. Here is a collection of reactions across the Internet. Yesterday VIBE Magazine issued the following “clarification” regarding part of Angela Stanton’s wild-ass accusations against Phaedra.
VIBE would like to state a clarification on the matter regarding the video interview released on VIBE.com on March 15th, 2012. In the first clip (of three), Ms. Stanton refers to an individual involved in the criminal scheme described in the book, as the brother of Apollo [Phaedra’s husband]. It appears as if Everett and Apollo are not related by blood and Ms. Stanton refers to Everett as Apollo’s “street brother” in her book. The statements made in the video clips were made by Ms. Stanton in a figurative manner and not in literal terms.
It “appears as if” Everett and Apollo are not siblings? Really now. Good thing that “book” is nothing more than some Internet blatherings packaged as an ebook. Pretty easy to make edits. I imagine there will be more edits forthcoming.
Meanwhile, a new blog has suddenly shown up with nothing but a phone interview with Angela on it. When asked how she feels about being called a hater, Angela says that people hated Jesus for telling the truth too. Uh-huh, Angela Stanton is just like Jesus, y’all! The interviewer says that in the book Angela seems like she is trying to seek Phaedra’s approval. They ask her what the most drastic thing she has done to seek Phaedra’s approval. Angela says it wasn’t about seeking her approval it was about loyalty. The interviewer asks her “What exactly was Phaedra’s role in the car jacking crimes? ” Angela responds with, “it’s in the book”. Q: Were you surprised when Phaedra and Apollo got married? A: Yes I was, and the reasons why are in the book. This is her answer to every single question. Q: Is there anything you want Phaedra to know? A: I told her exactly what I wanted her to know…..(you guessed it) IN THE BOOK. Angela did say that the story was NOT a tell all book about Phaedra but the story of her life since birth. So the title Lies of a Real Housewife: Tell the Truth and Shame the Devil is sort of an odd choice for someone who is not trying to smear someone else’s reputation but simply telling the story of their hard-knock life doncha think? Vibe is also saying that the book was up to #67 on amazon when it was released. All I can tell you is it is number 5,289 right now. Also there are 14 reviews over at Amazon right now. 13 reviews are five star with one 4 star. They all say the same thing. This author is so honest and misunderstood! I couldn’t put the book down! I’ll buy anything she writes! I would have spent $20 dollars! I read a lot of book reviews and I’ve never seen one person mention that the book was under priced. The only thing anyone mentions in the reviews that is not on the videos or RHOA is that Apollo only has one testicle due to a motorcycle accident. (insert eyeroll here). Meanwhile, Hiphopenquirer.com is reporting that Stanton backed out of their interview after she requested a list of questions up front. This seems counter-productive to getting the truth out there, doesn’t it? HHE also called the music executive that Stanton claims raped her in the book. He claims that Stanton has in fact tried to extort her in this way in the past for money. In the book Stanton says she was afraid to press charges, but now apparently she feels comfortable making a public accusation now.

I read th book and sadly I believe much is true. I am an educated professional and find that often in our community we hold up undeserving characters. Phaedra has an alleged dark past. SO what! Shame on us for making her a hero. Look at her back drop-her husband was fresh out of prison prior to nuptials, much younger, she lied about how they met, her baby's due date and why he went to prison. Now let's be clear, all of those things should raise red flags. As usual in our community we pretend they don't exist. Hello O.J. !

Sorry folks but I did read the book and and I did not put it down until the end. It was intriguing til the last page. This book wasn't on my radar, I read it to see what all the fuss was about. I have a feeling sales are about to improve.
I really needed to hear here story, that's the reason I interviewed her, theRVAlien.com tried hard not to judge her, but like everybody going through healing, her story needed to be heard. If u wanna hear the interview go by the site and listen .

The reason it's not selling is because it's a bullshit story and everybody knows it.
If that's the only thing that VIBE needs to clarify then I guess it must have some truth to it. I haven't heard about any actions from Phaedra's lawyers only silence. The reason the book is not selling is because its only on kindle and at the end of the day no one really cares about Phaedra
If they can stumble over something so small, imagine how they can mess up on something big…
I by no means is a pheadra fan and the book sounds like bull, eventhough, I was interested the first day but after that I didnt care. Truthfully no one outside atlanta or who dont watch real housewives dont know who she is. She like the other ladies are d list or e list celebrities. This is not like the book is about someone who is a list or b list. I know this us ur blog but the less attention we give this person the faster she will go away.
