We begin in the place we left off with the Sheree and Marlo catfight. You have to hand it to Sheree, she managed to be a central character in not one but two major fights this season! Way to make yourself a storyline there Sheree. I never like it when I watch the sneak peeks  because the whole rest of the Cape Town scenes seemed like a rerun to me.  So off we go to Shamwari!
Why are they trying to act like they drove from Capetown to Shamwari? That’s over five hundred miles.  They flew from Capetown to Port Elizabeth where the spent a day or two before driving to Shamwari. Why didn’t they at least acknowledge that? They will fly out of Port Elizabeth as well so perhaps we will see some of that before they head back to The States.

I am shocked that they stayed at the lodges they did. I suppose they knew better than to put the girls in the tents, but still it would have made for good TV.  The “tents” are five star accommodations with indoor plumbing (and outdoor showers) but the outer “walls” are canvas and critters can and do get in!  That would have been fun! Nene and Marlo were in Long Lee Manor Lodge. I did not see enough of the smalls rooms to see where they were staying.

Cynthia at least had the sense to wear costume jewelry. Also, once again I love the braided wig she brought. This trip was Cynthia’s shining moment to be the most sophisticated, sensible person in the group. Bless her heart, she really should have rolled with the smalls. She didn’t deserve to have her trip disrupted the way that she did. In next week’s, episode you will see Cynthia sitting as far away from Marlo as possible. She’s so much smarter and more likable away from Peter.

I don’t believe Marlo’s behavior. No, I mean, I seriously do not believe it. They MUST have paid her for each obnoxious act. I honestly do not believe anyone is that obnoxious. It’s a good thing they had a crew with them because she would have been jumped on the way out of club Jade.  You don’t go out in a foreign country (or anywhere for that matter) and get wasted and then pull out wads of cash and toss it into the air unless you are at the Pink Pony. Especially as a female. All of that designer name dropping like Pam from RHOBH does has to be a script from Bravo. You could not pay me enough to humiliate myself like that in a foreign country. Wearing pumps on a Safari? Asking for hair and make-up? Asking for someone to carry you to the Jeep? I don’t believe that is real.

I like how the cashier told them that there are a lot of other people who would benefit from their purchases besides the orphanage. Shamwari takes all of the tourists to that orphanage. Also, did you notice that they had to get up early in the morning and the drive was only  fifteen minutes but there was a spontaneous mob of singing school children who just so happened to be out for a lunch break? This is classic “singing for our supper” orphan tourism.  Those kids on the side of the road did well being in the right place at the right time. I hope that village has a supplier who comes soon to restock! The ladies spent some money!
I must give Marlo credit on the orphanage visit though. She went right down to the kids eye level immediately and loved all over them. I think coming from the foster care system even she got that it was not the place to show out, though she did wear Louboutins.  Nene seemed the most taken aback by what she saw at the orphanage. She seemed to be having an epiphany about how blessed her life has been, even with her trials and tribulations.  Perhaps, that was a life changing moment for her because she sure seems like a different person lately. All in all I was very impressed by how they handled the entire orphanage outing. Each one of the housewives seemed genuinely touched and it was beautifully filmed. I can’t wait to see what the ladies get into next week!
